Root Issue with Nandroid and Restore

Ok so I may have messed up big time. I was trying to get my phone back to factory defaults and I might have blown something up. I have the original nandroid backup and have put it on my SD card but I can browse the card it just keeps saying files not found. I formated my SD card and then did a factory reset data wipe from the unrevoked recovery. I am stuck as the phone works but I can't seem to do anything in adb shell, su says sbin/su not found. Anybody know how I can fix this? I don't mind going back to square one and re rooting if that is the only way possible.

sounds like you lost root.. try it again.

Yep I agree. Sounds like you lost root. Happened to me once. Just reroot and you should be golden. I know "just reroot" is easier said than done though.

When you boot into recovery does it goto stock recovery or clockwork mod?
