Issue with waking phone

Hello,

I am having some trouble getting my phone to wake from its sleep state. When I push the unlock (power) button, 9/10 the bottom menu buttons light up, but the screen will not come on. The Sprint store told me it was something physical (with the power button), but the screen also does not come on when I slide the phone open and also when receiving calls/texts. Any idea on what could be going on?

UPDATE:

Took it back into the Sprint store. They said the last guy I talked to was new and probably didn't know what he was doing. New guy said this was something he hadn't seen before and ordered me a new phone!
