Help Issues after JB update

I did not see a thread for this so I figured I'd start it.

One issue and one complaint for me so far.

My issue is that every time I plug in to charge, my brightness setting defaults back to "automatic", where I had it set to a specific level of brightness. This was not an issue before. I am probably not seeing a setting somewhere. Any help would be appreciated.

My only complaint is that M did away with the "Sleep" option in the shut down menu. Only options now are Power Off and Airplane mode. I used the sleep option nightly.
 
I already posted this in another thread, but figured this was a good spot too...

The Contacts list background is now white, and can't be changed back (that I can see anyway). Really, really ugly.... downloaded a different contacts list from the Play Store until this is (hopefully) sorted out.
 
The "speed dial" option is gone as well. There is a new widget to dial contacts directly from a home screen.

I added the direct dial to my home screen, but if there are multiple numbers for that contact, I have to choose each time I dial. does anyone know a way to always select the same number?
 
When you select the contact's name for the DD widget select the specific phone number you want for the widget such as home, mobile, work etc. You can set up a DD wedget for each phone number of a particular contact.

It took me a while to find the DD option. I thought that all you needed to do was longpress an empty area of the screen and pick Shortcut/DIrect Dial. It wasn't there and I found it under the Widgets.
 
DW Dialer is a good program has a dark background that you can customize. The dialer is like sense. There is a free and paid version
