Help Issues after recent sys update from Samsung

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum and also fairly new to smartphones in general. I've had the SS Galaxy Note 2 from Sprint for 3 months now and love it in general, however I have a few problems currently. I'm honestly not sure how many of these are systematic and how many I may have caused myself (installing stuff, deleting stuff, changing stuff, just playing around with the phone, etc).

1. I notice that the menu on the left side of the screen (the one that lets you run 2 things at once) seems to have disappeared. I can't get it to come back. I didn't use it much, so I can't be sure whether this is post-system-update, or if I screwed something up. Does anyone else have this problem, and can someone tell me how to get it back again? The key on the right (the 'back' button) doesn't seem to bring it up like it once did ..

2. I prefer other launchers and have been using the Nova launcher, however my phone occasionally jumps back to the default launcher. It has been happening a LOT more frequently since the update a few weeks ago. I didn't make Nova my default launcher because I couldn't find the default launcher in the apps drawer and wasn't sure how I could ever get back to that one if I chose to do so. Any advice or suggestions?

3. Voice mail .. the phone came with a neat app that transcribed my voice mail but after a bit of time, I got a message saying 'free time is over dude .. gotta pay from here on out'. Fine .. it's a good app and I have no issues with them wanting to charge for it, but I don't want to pay for it so I use google voice instead, however I can't find a -default- voice mail option anywhere in the menus or app drawers (or online) so that I can uninstall this 'for pay' app and just get a normal voice-mail option. Can someone please tell me how to do this?

I had my phone set up just right, so I haven't done a reset yet .. that's my 'absolute last ditch nuclear option' ..

Thanks in advance for any and all help or advice or suggestions!

Not sure I have the answers but...

On the multi window, pull down your top task bar thing and see if multi window is enabled. Hopefully it's as easy as that.

On the launcher, I use Holo HD and in its settings it has a setting for the default launcher. Maybe Nova has the same in the launcher settings?

re multi-window, I didn't realize that was up at the top task bar. Thank you!
Re launcher, I had hoped not to make Nova my default but I'll check & see if that is an option. My reasoning for not wanting it to be the default is that I can't find the normal launcher anywhere and won't know how to recover to that one IF I should ever want to. Anyway, I'll check the nova settings to see if there is a default option. Thank you again!

Once you've selected Nova as your default launcher, you can easily undo that by scrolling to and selecting Nova in your applications list and pressing the 'clear defaults' button.
