Issues unlocking on Rooted device

Good evening,

I'm looking to unlock my Orange Hero so eldest can have it (he's on the GiffGaff network).

The phone is rooted and running Chronos Ginger (see signature).

I've got a unlock code off HTCCODES.com, I boot the phone with GiffGaff sim card and it asks for unlock code. Once I've entered that it comes up with "Unlock Successful" but it doesn't connect to the network.

After rebooting the phone it asks again for the unlock code (again, when I enter it I get the success message).

Any ideas where I'm going wrong?

Putting the Orange Sim card back in and it works fine (as I'd expect).

I was going to put the phone back to stock 2.1 but I no longer have the image and no htc sync on the phone anymore.

Anybody encountered something similar, or have any ideas how I can get this unlocked?

I've sorted this out now. Seems only certain roms will allow the unlocking.

In case it helps anyone else.....

I flashed the SalsaSense rom and this worked fine. I've now gone back to Cronos and its still unlocked.
