Help Issues updating to Android 4.0

Okay so I've had my Incredible since March now, I'm currently running Android 2.2. It's telling me there's a system update available for Android 4.0. So the first time I went to go update it, it rebooted as such, immediately after saying it was rebooting. Began installing, then told me there wasn't enough data space available. So I waited a few days to have it pop up again(keep in mind I went to the System Update in the settings and it says its up to date..yet clearly, it's not) and finally it did. The battery wasn't enough to update, so I waited yet again a few days. Finally it re-appears. Battery was fully charged. So I hit accept and install. The countdown to reboot happened, it said rebooting now. Waited a few minutes, it still hadn't rebooted. Waited an hour, still nothing. So instead I hit cancel and went on with my day. A few hours later it popped up again, so I tried yet again this time plugged in. Did the usual and still nothing. Left it again a minute, ten, an hour, left it over night. And yet still nothing happened. I woke up in the morning with it still saying the same thing
It popped up again today, and I tried it. And yet it still continues to do this. Is there any way I can manually install the update via my computer or some website?
Thanks in advance!

Incredible users won't get the new 4.0 update? Why the heck not? The Incredible's not *that* old...even Apple, the master of planned obsolescence, configured the recent iOS 5.0 update to be compatible on a phone that was released almost a year before the Incredible. (the iPhone 3GS)

Is it just some compatibility issue with HTC Sense?

Apple supports one phone and one phone model only that basically all run on the same hardware. So basically when apple has a new update, it automatically just works with the older phones.
htc has a dozen or more phones all with different screens/processors/GPUs etc. They aren't going to spend the money to port a new OS to all those phones when most people are at the end of their contract and looking to upgrade.

Android manufactures have one business model, apple has another, they both have their pros and cons for individual people.
