I have just purchased an HTC Wildfire. I have synced all my google and facebook contacts, and have linked them all (so I have linked John Smith's Google contact with his Facebook contact and Skype contact etc).
I have set up my people widget, however, when I select a contact whose default action I have set to "new message," the screen simply goes blank for a second and then returns to the people widget. Contacts whose default I have set to "call" work fine, and if I select the name of the contact it opens the entire contact entry fine, so it just seems to be a problem with the messaging. The exact same thing also happens with any direct message shortcuts that I set up on my homescreen.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why this would happen? My actual text messaging works fine (ie, if I go to compose message, everything works and I can send and receive texts fine).
