Hello.
I actually just joined here and rooted my Commando yesterday. I wasn't able to find any "tutorials" in the way most think of them. All I could find was 'get drivers, get super one click, set phone to debug, then run and let it do the rest' which as it turns out is well..... pretty much all you have to do. Did you set the USB connection to mass storage when it was connected? That might be whats giving you the issue. In the notification bar when it says its connected via USB, select it and make sure that its set to that and not media sync or charge only, THEN, put it in debugging mode. Also make sure the memory card is removed. If it helps, here is what I did step by step:
Get dirvers (there is a thread here somewhere that has them)
Install dirvers on my PC (win 7)
Connect commando as Mass storage (it loads that specific driver)
Disconnect....
Connect commando as Charge only (it loads that specific driver)
Disconnect....
Connect commando as media sync (loads that driver)
Disconnect....
Install Super one click on PC
Power off phone, remove SD card
Power phone back on, set connection to mass storage, and turn on debugging mode
Run Super one click (wait until is says waiting for device)
Connect Commando to PC
Super One Click runs (finishes successfully for me)
Turn phone off
Put SD card back in phone, turn it on.
Done.
**EXTRA IF IT HELPS FOR TI BACKUP**
Installed TI Backup, said my phone wasn't rooted? (it was?)
Pulled card again, ran Super one click again
Put card back in, ran TI Backup, it worked. Not sure why I had to do it twice, but it worked after that.
