Help Issues with the X

i understand what youre trying to do.... but you really have to look at the BIGGER picture. These members come here to flamebait. pointblank.

I don't like Sense, Motoblur, or Touch Wiz. I don't understand why we have to put up with these crappy manufacture BS. I would like a phone with plain vanilla. If someone wants an overlay, they can download from the market. The phone would be faster, and updates would come much faster. Plus, vanilla looks better thank any of them anyway.

Simple solution; create your own phone company so you can make a phone exactly how you want it. Other then that these manufacturers aren't going to change they make it that way to add something(although some people dont like it) that makes the OS a little more different then another phone

I thought about the Incredible, but after having an Eris I decided to leave HTC and give Moto a shot.

I believe the inc is an overall better phone for me personally i'm a tech whore so I think i'm going to stay with the x to not get left behind spec wise.

Problems i've had so far
-Worse battery life (had seidio battery in inc)
-dull colors (love daytime viewing though <3)
-hard to use with one hand
-random restarts/freeze and black screen until removing the battery
-moto ui sux (got LP)
-camera buttons tough to use
-lack of trackpad slightly anoying
-cut and paste is clunky
-volume rocker is too small
-no capacitive buttons hard ot get used to
-seems slower probably because of the insane amount of bloatware running in the backround that wont stay killed, yeah it has a faster proccessor but with all the bloat its more like its running at 700mhz
-no root to play with
-QUICK DESK WONT WORK /CRY

I'm still deciding though honestly just itd be really hard to go back to a smaller screen.

I get some random restarts also, but I think it might be some settings in LauncherPro might need tweeked. My battery seemed great the first day but now won't last 8 hrs.

just to prove how childish you clowns are, i will go to the incredible section and let them know what a piece of crap the incredible is. Im so glad i upgraded to a much better phone and multimedia device that doesnt need to be plugged in 75 percent of the day.The funniest part is all you guys talk about root and o'cing, but you miss the fact that the "STOCK" X still outperforms the overclocked incredible. So all youre doing is running above suggested temperatures trying to catch something that still surpasses you while running stock.

So if I understand your point correctly, someone looking to find user experiences on the Droid X won't find anything negative about it here on the Droid X site? They have to go somewhere else to find it? They won't find anyone here who regret their X purchase? No one can explain why they don't like their new phone and want to return it? Did it hurt your feelings?

I'm trying to decide between the HTC Inc and the Droid X, and I find the OP's post, along with others that have a different verdict to be very useful. You would be surprised how many people are also trying to decide between the two. And the Droid X site is actually the right place to put this, since it is the phone he or she is rejecting.

So ironic you have a sheep for an icon. This is not your personal little website with every post praising your phone.

FWIW, I think the random re-starts are caused by Launcher Pro, not the X. I say this because I installed Launcher Pro on my Incredible and I had random restarts. I tried it on my Incredible because I would use it on the X............ I'm still trying to decide whether to return my Incredible for the X. I have until the 25th. It's driving me crazy........

I came from the DInc - the X is better.

You can actually USE it without worrying about the battery crapping out on you.

The charging port on my DInc cracked after only 2 months of use.

With that said, it's weird but whoever posted on here that the 'lag goes away after a day or two' is RIGHT. It's alot smoother now, than what it was on day one. Now, it's very peppy with no slow downs whatsoever.

I don't know if it was LauncherPro or what, but the built-in CarDock app stopped working. It would start to open then go back to the home screen, so I've already done a hard reset, that brought it back.

I really like LauncherPro but I'm afraid to reinstall it, because the only other Car Dock app sort of sucks.

Other than that my only issues are the lousy contact management (it's ok though, I just switch it to Google Contacts, but I wish I could default it to that everywhere) and the craptastic camera. It's really bad, except in bright daylight it looks like there's a film over it, and I can't seem to take a good picture with it.

AHHHH!!!!!!!! I HAVE A STUCK PIXEL! I think it is stuck and not dead, it shows up red on dark screens and it just popped up today. I will call Verizon on Monday and see how long until I can get a new one.

exwife, check the pic threads in here. Some ppl have gotten really nice pictures with the X. One person found out it was a dirty lense.

That was my impression. The camera lens is easily touched with the fingers.

Anyone else get a black screen when waking up phone/unlocking? I usually hit the camera button a few times, then home and it will get me back. Kind of annoying, hoping I don't have to take back and exchange, I hope it either stops or ota can fix software error.

I don't have launcher pro either, just in case someone thinks that is it. Anyone else?

I love my X, however, I have had a few issues - I am trying to set a contact picture (my dad) and when I go to set as and the prompt comes up I select contacts - he's not there. I select favorites- he's not there. I choose all contacts - he's not there....So where'd he go? It happened also when I was trying to set the In case of EMERG numbers...couldn't find my daughter...I tried everything. Finally gave up and tried the next day and was able to set her picture. I don't get it. My husband on the other hand has to have a new phone sent to him and they did say it was backordered - this phone will do until new one comes.

My camera did lock up once and I shut my phone off and back on and it was fine. The sound is awesome, the battery is doing well. The handsfree bluetooth we bought for the car sounds great. I came from the Droid - my co-worker bought it and today when I held it I thought I was holding a toy it seemed so small.

Ive noticed some major lagging when trying to switch to landscape txting. Sometimes the screen doesnt switch to landscape unless I shake it. Ill get over it but it does get annoying.

i did once after it charged all night....had to battery pull
