Root It's been great, guys!

Just want to really thank everyone on this thread, if any are still around. Especially the big helpers and devs. It's made the Evo worth hanging onto.

I actually wanted to hold on to it for another year but it finally gave out on me. I used to be able to search up how to fix the common bootloop etc, but now I got the black screen of death with no way to get to recovery. It seems the problem is internal, motherboard maybe as it gets hot...

BUT ANYWAY! I love you all, farewell! I will truly miss being able to pay $25 a month for a plan that really suited me.

Time to test out the GS5 on T-mobile o_O
Will never buy an iPhone*

Good luck with your next device! The community for this one was so great, it's hard to move on :'(

Consider the Nexus 5! It's a good one. ;)

It really was! I got the hang of flashing with this side of the forum, it's hitting hard! I barely used 3D :'( My boyfriend still has a working Evo, I miss it when I see it haha

& Perhaps for my next upgrade! Even though there might be a newer Nexus lol, I jumped on my dad's T-Mobile family plan as I needed a phone quick. Sucks because the GS5 is coming to Virgin! Would have rather waited but alas I needed a phone now :(

I still have my HTC EVO V 4G and replace it 5 times with no money out of pocket.
Virgin mobile has a excellent replace policy.
I have updated to the newer Rom
Kit-Kat 4.4.2 with Art already build inside of the Rom.
Liquid Smooth 3.0 is a genius.
It's like having a new phone with upgrade features & more

I felt the same way about the OG EVO...

After awhile, everyone gets different devices and moves on. I recognized a few faces from that forum on the EVO V forum.

I myself didn't stay here long...maybe 6 months or so. I bought a Virgin Mobile Galaxy S3 within a couple of weeks of the launch, and I haven't really been back much since. I just happened to click onto this forum and decided to reply to this thread.

Brian,

I'm pretty sure you were a Guide when I left. I see that you're rolling with the big boys now ;)

What provider do you use with your Nexus 5? I've been seriously thinking about picking one up but Virgin Mobile doesn't support it as far as I know.

You're correct. I switched to AT&T when I got my N5.

It's possible that virgin will support the N5 at some point; it's not that it won't work with virgin mobile, but that they just won't activate it. Though, virgin mobile Canada has the N5...

Ah, alright. I need to shop around for a new plan at some point, I'd love to use a carrier that allows the N5 if it isn't too expensive.

I think you can use Nexus 5 with At&t straight talk. I don't know much about straight talk as I'm on a family plan but you might want to look into that...

My roommate is on Straight Talk AT&T and my roommate's Nexus 5 integrates fine. So does his locked iPhone 3GS (locked to AT&T) which he uses for iMessage.

I still use my evo daily. The fact that it can seamlessly run any game I throw at it without issues (Modern Combat 4, Dead Trigger 2, Bounty Hunter), there isn't a reason to upgrade. In the future, that may change. I also wanna give Kitkat a shot on this phone, though Wild For The Night seems to be serving me well so far. Not to sound like an iPhone user but... It just works. In contrast to the Motorola Triumph and the Samsung Intercept, this phone's been going strong almost 3 years, which is beyond amazing to me. HTC outdid themselves on this phone and its a shame it didn't gain more traction and an official jb update.
