It's called the Xbox 360 because...

^I still got a fat PS2 and the orig Xbox, just for the hell of it.

Well....I do need to finally finish some games on each.

What about Atari?!!? Only old system I have ever kept. Always fun to break that out randomly.

Just have a 360, PS3, Wii, and a computer and you'll have the best of all worlds. That's what I do.

I just sold my Wii and plan on selling my PS3 pretty soon too so I'll only have a 360 and a PC which I plan on modifying within the next 6-8 months in preparation for Diablo 3. I'd say that's the best of both worlds as well. :)

Bah, I hate the "my system is better than your system" crap. Everyone plays for different reasons, and every system offers something different to the user. I'm primarially a 360 gamer, but I also PC game. I personally don't like the PS3 at all. We had one for a couple of months and then traded it back in. But that's just MY opinion. That doesn't mean the 360 (or PC) is BETTER than the PS3, just that I perfer it more. I appreciate that the people here can be smart about the discussion. I've seen some pretty nasty name calling over the topic =p

What I have... (in order of most commonly used):
3 XBox 360s (complete with Kinect!)
2 gaming desktops (1 non-gaming desktop and 3 laptops... one that USED to be a gaming laptop)
Wii
SNES
Sega Genesis
Atari

=D

I think Kinekt currently knocks the socks off the competition for the VR (or whatever class it falls into) gaming. To be honest, I don't think there can be much of an argument against that, unless you either can't physically get up and move or just plain don't want to. I keep the PS3 for the media player (I have an older non-hdmi or wifi 360) and for the bluray, but aside from a bit of little big planet, I don't find myself playing with it a whole lot. Wii certainly has more of the "exlusives" that I like to play (Mario rocks, let's face it), while I play almost everything else on the 360 (for not much reason other than it's not in the main room so I get to play it when the gf wants to watch tv instead).

Lol. Well my boyfriend and I met on Xbox, so when he moved in we obviously each had 1. Then we got my mom one for mother's day, and I bought her Uno, Peggle, Feeding Frenzy, and some other arcade games that I knew she liked on it so we could all play together but she hardly ever uses it so we moved it out into the living room and that's the system we have the Kinect hooked up to. To clarify, there is only 1 Kinect lol.

To anyone thinking about getting the Kinect, it's totally worth it. I'm 23 years old, and my friends and I play all the time! Get the Kinect Sports game and play party-mode with 3 of your friends... I guarentee it'll be worth the $150. Just make sure you have the space to play it (at least 6 feet).

The only reason we keep the Wii is because 1) Mario and 2) my mom has a crapload of Rockband and Guitar Hero games on Wii already.

Yeah, my mom plays Rockband and Guitar Hero lol. I had a party once and my friend brought it over so she tried it and thought it was the coolest thing ever. Now she has her friends over and thats all they do all night lol.

i thought it was called the 360 because you will get that many RRoD before you get a fully functional system=P

though, i do love my 360 lol!!!

I can say thats not true. My cousin had one of the original 360 and we played that 14 hrs a day for many years. then last year it finally gave up the ghost and it was a mechanical failure. Think the laser light assembly stripped out. Plus many of the rrod was from owners keeping the system in a closed in tight space.

As much as I would love to disagree with you, my poor ol' xbox got it's third rrod yesterday. :(

I was ultra paranoid about keeping it ventilated & dust free too.

I've had my 360 for about 3 years now. It gets played on average 3 hours a day every day (sometimes it's more like 15 hours, and I've even played 24 hours straight for an event to raise money for children's hospitals) and it's never given me a single issue. *crosses fingers*

You got one after microsoft got sued and was forced to fix MOST of the rrod's.

I personally think its a travesty that anyone would think of buying a microsoft console. They shipped over 50% defective units at launch, I will never buy another piece of hardware with microsoft's name on it. Even my explorer mouse died after only 2 years.. pathetic. The wiring went bad from normal mouse movement. My logitech made it through my lan center years, and was put through 100x the stress the microsoft mouse went through.

I still need to figure out which 360 is mine in the pile of dead xboxes at my friends house so I can try to get it fixed

Lets see here...

Xbox from launch 2001: Still working

Xbox 360 #1: Stolen, dorm room door kicked in over spring break
Xbox 360 #2: (elite, zephyr) RROD after two years or so. Replaced for free by MS
Xbox 360 #3: (elite) Died 15 minutes after getting back from MS, warrantied back to MS
Xbox 360 #4: (elite) RROD after letting friend borrow for a few months due to getting "Xbox 360 #5"
Xbox 360 #5: (arcade, falcon): Disk drive on the fritz but it works after a few minutes
Xbox 360 #6: (slim 250gb) Current device

On the bright side my MS explorer 5 button mouse works like a charm, its been so long I have no clue how old it is. It was one of the first laser mice on the market i think, definitely the first I ever owned. Got a logitech "gaming" mouse a few months ago but it never worked right. Couldn't hold the right button down and drag, it would always just insta-click with the right button.

i've never had a problem either and mine was manufactured in early 2007! knock on wood!
Oh hey, Im moving the Portland this fall lol

Bought a 60gig first release PS3, gone through 3 360's, said screw it stuck to the PS3 and have never had a problem with it.

Just my $.02

(1) xbox slim 4GB (upgraded to 250GB HD) - No problems, works like a champ
(2) PS3s 160GB (1st one died on me 2 weeks after I bought it, returned it to Fry's electronics for a brand new one)

It works both ways

I've for the first 360 with hemisphere and never seen a single problem with RROD ;) personally I think they are the best CONSOLE for gaming on and the ps3 is the best for all of the extra features and the exclusivity of killzone.

That said..... you can't beat a mouse and keyboard on a good enough rig with your 46inch tv as a monitor :P
