Wassup guys? Idk how many of you heard, but Virgin Mobile tweeted a few days ago that the 2.2 updgrade is coming out for the Samsung Intercept sometime this spring!

We should play a game, a game where we guess the exact date it is released! Winner gets the glory of being right lol.

My guess is April 3rd.

P.S. I am super psyched. No more will i run low on internal memory, i will have apps2sd! I will have live wallpapers and less lag! HOORAY!
 
My guess is August 30th. If a software company states "Spring", you can bet that will go to "Summer" unless a definitive date was posted.
 
I heard there was NO flash, and I think no live wallpaper support. Although developeres have made something for Intercept live wallpaper, you need to be perm. rooted. . .

My guess: Anytime in Spring :P

Even though it's the sprint one. they have the same processor/etc... only difference we get VM bloatware instead of sprint.

Livewallpapers from 2.1 works on Froyo.
You have to have custom recovery to apply.
Must be rooted
- Download this zip file and place it in /sdx/zip folder
- Power off your phone.
- Boot into recovery mode (press volume down + call + power).
- Apply the zip from the SD card using that recovery mode menu option.
- Reboot. You're done!

Tap on home screen hold. when add to home screen comes up choose>wallpapers>Live Wallpapers

The zip will install a Live Wallpapers App. After that just grab some free Live wallpaper apps from the Android Market.
 
My guess is... [June] 10th. I know that's not Spring (actually, closer to Summer)... Not a whole lot of faith in Virgin Mobile.
 
That leave me a decision to make: root and update myself, go back to the BlackBerry, wait untill VM pushes the update, or switch carriers to get a different phone that isn't a Samsung.
 
 
I rooted my phone to the sprint ROM of 2.2 and no it does not support live wallpaper. Just an FYI. You will most likely have to flash to a custom rom.
 
My friend has the sprint version of this phone and he got the update from sprint back in december. He says that it dosent come with live wallpapers and that he rooted his phone and the rom he uses has live wallpapers on it. He also said that live wallpapers are not worth it because they drain the battery really fast.
 
Exactly, the battery is already bad enough as it is. I don't even use a live wallpaper on my X, they kind of seem overrated. It was cool at first but they are nothing special. Just my opinion.
