It's Offical

I'm due for a phone since early this month. It's going to be between the Nexus 4G or the EVO 4G. I'll wait for some reviews first to see how they compare.

Like I said, I was due for a phone early this month. The Evo 3D isn't comming out until the summer. I don't really want to wait a couple months. I had enough with this Palm Pre crap.

ouch ok i can understand your pain then, but even still the evo shift or the epic would be a far better choice then the evo. the evo has a nice dev support to it but is seriously lacking in terms of hardware power compared to those 2 devices

Now if the online free activation and 100.00 android rebate will still be in place Im golden. Decision made

If you order from online they ignore the activation fee. You still get instant savings but the instant rebates end on the 7th of May and this phones doesn't come out until a day later. So you will have to do a mail-in rebate

Yeah that's the rumblings Ive heard, I suppose I will have to suck it up. Its only 50.00 difference and later I will get it back later rather than sooner.

Unless the price quoted above is taking into account the 150.00 upgrade credit then that's the diff. If that's the case I may have to sit on my Moment for a while yet.

With 150.00 upgrade it will still be 199.99. I asked a rep the other day and with everything included it is 199.99 for upgrades and new contracts. To save money, it would be smart to order it online. You save 18 dollars due to activation fee and shipping is free, so that is additional money you save. You can just pay for the phone and tax and the money you save (activation and shipment) you can keep as pocket money or maybe buy accessories. I'm a premier customer (silver) so if you buy two accessories you actually pay less then you would for one or damn near close. Luckily me and a few others were messaged by a company that sale cases for the Nexus S and shipped it to us for free. Was here in no time. So I don't need to buy a case. I still am actually, from PDair.com. It's a rubberized all white back case. Just covers the back and the sides. It doesn't peak over the front. Reminds me of the feather cases from Incidio.

I understand. Even when I know I have the money it is wise to save money when you can. This will start a new contract for me when I upgrade so working at Home Depot will save me 25% a month on my bill. I just hope it doesn't affect my status since my bill will be lower then it was which is why I am a premier customer and for good payments. I doubt though. I will ask to make sure. Sometimes funny things happen you know.

Well that pretty much knocks me out for a while. Gotta watch all the pennies I can. So Im most likely stuck with my Moment for a while, as I cant see upgrading to an Evo when it is old technology. So I reckon I will save for a while...... :-(

So its an Epic without a keyboard with Gingerbread? That would be a downgrade IMO. No thanks.

its much different then the epic..

epic has hd recording (for now), sd card slot, keyboard, and an led notification

nexus s has the latest form of android (at least for a couple of years.. ask nexus 1 owners what they think of android 2.3.4), it will have a fully working cm7 within a week, due to the form factor people like myself can get the heavy duty otter box case

Get it on contract at Best Buy for $199 and then pay the $200 ETF = $400

uh if you cancel within the 30 days they want the phone back, wait more then 30 and youve got yourself a phone bill.. so best bet.. is 199 (NS4G)+ 200 (ETF) + 80 (bill)

brings you to 480.. still cheaper then off contract.. and thats assuming best buy doesnt have a hidden etf like amazon does..

best buy marks up the off contract prices as they dont get nearly as much money for the deal then

Yowza - definitely won't be paying that much for the Nexus S!

I switched over to Sprint in June for the EVO, and am a premiere member. Does this mean I have the 1-yr upgrade eligibility, or is that no longer in effect?

They broke it down into Silver and Gold premiere customers. If you are a Silver you have to wait the full 2 years but still get the other benefits. If you are a Silver and you haven't used your upgrade before this plan went into affect (like me) then you can still use your upgrade and then after that you will have to wait a full two years.

A Gold customer can upgrade every year early. To know if your a Gold or Silver your monthly bill has to be 90 dollars or above to be a Gold and have an everything data plan. Silver is 69 to 79 everything data plan. Also, you have to have had good payment history and etc. It's funny because my bill is just under 90 dollars lol. I know it will be over 90 just a little once I get this phone but with the discount I want to know if that affects my status of changing to gold or staying silver.

actually i talked with the sprint peoples.. the plan itself has to be 90 bucks or 160 for individual and family respectively without taxes and addons..

as for the upgrade if you had a yearly upgrade already and as of april 1st you lost it (some people have been able to get it back by calling and complaining) but if your yearly upgrade was after april 1st then no you dont have anything.. unless as stated above you have premiere gold (according to the new rules)
