It's Offical

I called Sprint and very politely asked if I could get my 1 year upgrade even though I was a silver member. They said I could, but after that it would be every 2 years. I placed my pre-order for a Nexus S 4G with studentrate, got free shipping, waived activation, and 15% off my monthly bill.

actually i talked with the sprint peoples.. the plan itself has to be 90 bucks or 160 for individual and family respectively without taxes and addons..

as for the upgrade if you had a yearly upgrade already and as of april 1st you lost it (some people have been able to get it back by calling and complaining) but if your yearly upgrade was after april 1st then no you dont have anything.. unless as stated above you have premiere gold (according to the new rules)

I bought an Evo outright last year, and was eligible for an upgrade in November 2010.. I was saving that upgrade in case something newer came out soon after, but it took a while. So now i was going to use my upgrade for the nexus but after reading what you posted i went and looked and sure enough my upgrade disappeared.

Ill have to call in and see if i can get it back. Im kinda upset that they took that away. If someone was eligible they shouldnt just their little present away, i feel that is unfair for them to change the terms without giving me any options. Hopefully they help me out and make me happy.

Your upgrade is supposed to be there still. Mines is and I had my upgrade since November 2010. You should let them know. It's not supposed to take affect on you until you actually use it unless your a Gold member then none of it applies pretty much. It was an agreement to a contract so in a way they broke it. Plus I read specifically it wasn't supposed to go away until you used after April 1st when it was coming into affect. Don't be shy about it. They can look at your history & see how long you had the phone. You have to speak up & demand it.

Before the tax your bill should be 90 for an individual plan and for a family plan you should have a 160 before the tax and then your a gold member.

i went in yesterday to see about going to sprint they told me they dont have a release date yet for the nexus s so i said never mind then he told me to get the epic for now then return when the nexus comes out

If you order from online they ignore the activation fee. You still get instant savings but the instant rebates end on the 7th of May and this phones doesn't come out until a day later. So you will have to do a mail-in rebate

the instant mail in rebate promotion was extended to june 4th

i would call that sales person an idiot, may 8th is the official release date. when i went to preorder mine the manager at the store wanted to act like a jackass and talk to me across the room trying to get me to preorder the evo 3d, saying the nexus may not even come out.. no one knows if it really exists etc etc... but then claimed he saw the evo 3d at ctia....

its going to be 200 for a new contract/upgrade 550 off contract. my sprint insider is getting his on monday or tuesday, ill have a dump of the files then and ACS will start to look them over.

Wow, that rep seemed like an ass. I don't see how he couldn't know when the carrier he works for announced it. Sad. He must be sleep walking.

Not saying your false but where did you hear that or read it?

Update: Never mind. I found a source. Well, that's good news. Glad you pointed that out.

no offense taken but i am a sprint employee its my job to know these things... and no not your "typical" sprint rep

Im looking forward to the nexus, could i go grab the epic anytime and just return it and trade for a nexus? It would be cool to play with an epic for a while, but if its no worth the hassle i wont do it

you have 30 days after a device is purchased to swap/exchange it (at least at bestbuy) but im not sure if they will charge you a restocking fee

Yes, all phones have that 30 day return thing. I'm pretty sure every carrier does. I know Sprint does.

I just did the same thing today! I'm so glad that Sprint still let me have my upgrade and I love the 15% studentrate discount because I won't even notice the extra $10 premium data charge (or whatever they call it) on my bill. I'm excited, I think this phone is exactly what I've been waiting for :D

I feel, as long as you pay your bills on time and joined before they changed the premier member requirements, it's in their interest to let you upgrade, especially since you'll have to agree to 2-year upgrades from that point on.
