Hi All,

How about we collect all what just discovered while using our Note here ?

Example: the best app for deleting history is...

Example: if you press ... while doing .... this will happen....

So how about it ?

If you terminate opera in task manager instead of using closing it regularly it will remember all your tabs

I'm using Opera Mini and can't find a way of exiting it. I have to back out through all my screens. Is ther a way to exit cleanly please?

I use Opera Mobile rather than Mini but that too had no option to exit until I enabled the exit button in the options. It tends to remember the page I was on if I exit that way (but not always).

I've discovered that I don't need to take up space on my home screen with the search widget. Press and hold the menu button from pretty much anywhere and it brings up search.

@abbood.. So, come one then. Where are your discoveries?

@bodestone
Holding up the menu button brings up the recent apps list not the search bar.
The Menu button. The one to the left of the home button which does the Apps list on long press. OK, so it's not a physical button but I don't know another name for it.

@Bodestone :D

I'm a new Android user so I'll be writing things which maybe old for some of you..

I've noticed that you can't sign-out from twitter ,,, you have to remove your account as a sign-out

I've tried history eraser,,, and it's really good

If you enable swipe and enter you text without lifting your fingers,, it will complete the text for you about 93% of the time,, which is amazing

i found a really good note taking application called freenote. It takes handwritten notes and scales them down and puts them in some kind of sensible order. its pretty cool. It can do stuff like the snote application and seems a bit more powerful in the paint dept, pressure pen aside.

I've discovered that I can't clear or empty my clipboard,Ive tried several different apps but nothing seems to work.Does anyone have any ideas of how to do this? Thanks

TO ACCESS CLIPBOARD......REPLY TO SKULL......one way..........click on S memo..in the upper right see 4 boxes.....the second from the left is a square with the u/L corner bent over....press on that........a window comes up and you'll see "clipboard as one option.....tap on that.....you will see at the bottom of the screen items in your clipboard.. press and HOLD the the item....... a window comes up and it says "delete"....do that for each item... PS. I called samsung support and they told me there was no way for the end user to access the clipboard........DUH to Samsung support

Not really a hint or tip, more of an observation; the screen stays remarkably clean, which is very welcome! :)

On top of that I am using my Note a lot more than my old HTC Desire, basically because it can do more and is much better at doing what it does!

Just tried the passive digitiser pen from my HP tx2130ea laptop which has a Wacom touch screen. And it works - pressure sensitivity too, as well as the eraser tip :)

None of the buttons brings out the search bar. Are you using international note or lte ?

International. I am sure I have seen it mentioned for both though. Left hand button, press and hold. Actually brings up the stock browser in search mode.

Edit, OK, no just a full screen version of search.

I downloaded " turn off the lights".(the one by protoport)....I installed it on my home screen. Now, I set my screen time to as high as I want it (10-30 min for me). So, the phone doesn't keep shutting off when I'm looking at it. All I do is touch the button "on the home screen" (I actually put it on all my home screens) and the screen turns off. It's so much more convenient than the on/off button. Of course I need the on/off button to turn it back on...It's also a little easier with less wear and tear on that mechanical on/off button..........Here's the bonus.....Lets say you are on a screen other than your home screens and you want to shut it off ..( ex. on the web)....just long press the search button in the L/R corner and the phone shuts off.. OK now, I have found that the app I mention " " turn off the lights" is the best . I tried a few and I personally like this......It also has "NO PERMISSIONS", .............I combined that with " screen timeout.(the one by josh falter). That allows me to "quickly" change my timeouts w/o going into settings. They sit side by side on my homescreen....I also found that one to be the most convenient.....
....good luck

Hi. I downloaded it and like you, placed the icon on my home screen. I enabled it then pressed the activate button. Pressing on the home screen icon only brings me back to its enable/disable menu. Am I missing something? There are no other options available on the program.

Help please... Thanks.

I had the same problem on my phone and on someone elses. Here is the solution that worked for me. When you go to your menu/add+/shortcuts/turn off the lights...........then put 4-5-6 of the icons on you screen..then tap one at a time and see if one works as it should. If none work then put on a few more till u find one that does.....remember which one it was and use that......let me know if that works. It worked for me

I only had to try dragging one new icon to the home screen and it already worked! Strange but effective solution :D Got lucky I guess.

Thanks!

great app for stopping the keyboard onscreen display pop... Null keyboard... very useful if you have external kb

I discovered if you stomp on it real hard with a heavy boot on your foot you can use the glass shards to cut things. Clever little undocumented feature there. :)
