Fair point, It fell out of my pocket whilst driving and clipped a piece of metal on the bottom of the seat. I'm just unlucky, you can only feel the scratch if you use your nail, otherwise it's still smooth. I thoght I wouldn't need a screen protector, word of warning for other users I suppose

I learned my lesson years ago when I had my D500, in my pocket in a phone sock, with my keys, ended up with a tasty scratch on one side of the screen, luckily it didn't get onto the main part of the screen, just the edging. Since then it's a screen protector every time.

I suppose no matter how careful you are it's going to happen. So far mine is the same as when I first got it and hopefully it will be like this for as long as I have it.........that's it, I've probably jinxed myself now:D

I utterly detest screen protectors. They spoil both the appearance of the screen (even if they are put on perfectly, which they almost never are), feel horrible and don't have the lovely oleophobic coating that our screens have.

I have never scratched the screen on a phone and I haven't used a screen protector for years.

Clearly, scratching my screen is a risk I run but I prefer the 1% chance of scratching my screen to the 100% chance of having it look and feel awful all the time.

That said, I feel your pain as they say. I'd be gutted...
