Root (ive returned lol ) new update???? !

my phone keeps telling me there is an update ... my phone is rooted... so i dont think i should update.. or should i??? ... if not... how can i stop this from popping up. ?

Theres a new update called FE16. It seems to fix the BS issues of the FA19 update and a few extras like a new lock screen. You can easily switch by going to the Everything Root section, then either find the Odin thread or the FA19 to FE16 update thread. There is a prerooted Odin version for you to download and install (thanks to Kouma). Or if you dont want the update, install CTmod 3.6. Bloodawn removed the part that checks for updates so youll never get bothered.

If you follow the guide and flash just the phone.tar in Odin, it will be like doing the update, but without wiping all your stuff.

Was that removed as of the CTmod 3.6 or was it there sooner? I'm on CTmod 3.4 (I know I need to update because I hate the issues, I just haven't had time), and I just got the update notification. I guess I'll need to read his change logs.

Update still bother those on CTMod 3.6 as the device still checks for system updates even tho Blood has removed the update option from the UI. From what I gather he never stopped the phone from acutally checking for updates.

I did flash the baseband to fe16 but I STILL get the update note. I just did the phone.tar in odin. Do i have to do it ALL for it not to notify me.? I am rooted and using CTMod 3.6


would the update just unroot(expected)? or worse?

This has already been stated, but I think it is correct and summarizes. Please correct any incorrect assumptions.

The update would not work on a rooted phone and might brick it. Requiring Odin to fix (hopefully, which is NOW a word).

If you are stock unrooted then no worries. The new baseband is good.

Inigo posted the raw update and Kouma converted into Odin format and posted it.

Then he rooted it, included CWM and posted that too

If you do not want to change your ROM, just Odin the phone.tar. It is an improvement IMHO. YMMV.

If you want stock rooted EXT4 goodness Kouma produced HalfAssROM 2.0. You flash this with CWM. This will not change the baseband. You have to do that with ODIN.

I am not sure about the update notification stuff. I usually run CM7 and now CM9 so I don't get them.

Never got one on CTMOD either.

I only got one when I Wanted to by using Odin to return to stock. But that was just for fun to see what would happen.
