Root I've tried....

searching thru this sub forum and I've find alot of stuff on you guys that have rooted and installing roms is second nature. I've been on this site for a while in the Eris forum and so I'm new to root. I just got a droid and rooted it. Tried OC but ran into a snag there. Tried installing BB .09, no luck. I'm not an idiot but trying to mod this thing is making me feel like one. Whats a good first step here, as I seem to keep stumbling out of the gate?

Have you installed SPRecovery yet? Rooting allows you to do that, but you need a custom recovery console before you can start ROMming all over the place.

Just follow this page. That is all I had to do. Make sure you follow it correctly.Don't skip over stuff. I ran into no problems doing this.

research research research. Easiest way to learn to root and root well. This forum, alldroid.org, etc are all great places to learn.

You can take plenty of shortcuts without research when everything goes right. Unfortunately, everything doesn't always go right. Any reading and practice you do is time well spent.
