I think I'm going to keep it. My signal sucks a lot of the time, but everything else about the phone is awesome and there's nothing currently available or coming soon to Verizon that appeals to me. The Skyrocket HD for AT&T seems nice, but I don't want to change carriers.

I'll probably regret this on the 16th, but we'll see.

Nah, you won't regret it. Think about the other maybe 2 phones on the VZW network with 4G right now.... You'll come back. There are several "I'm back" posts here, too!

Like I reported, using sensorly, you can check the reported signal strength... it's a little lower than my bionic and I mean a LITTLE lower at the office, but it all works great.

I did a test near a tower with my bionic and IIRC only 19M vs 58M on the SGN.

Sure each are blazingly fast! But I'd rather not bugger or have any less downtime downloading larger apps or files, etc. 4G doesn't use more data, it just gets it done faster so I can move on.

I just tried to return my GNex to Best Buy and was told there was no Holiday Return Window by Verizon this year. The sales guy even called his Verizon rep to confirm. I bought the phone on launch day, Dec 15th, and am now told i have no return, only available option is to either get another GNex or choose another phone. Anyone else hear anything like this?

Says right on my receipt from Verizon. Can return until 1/15/12. Don't know about BB.

I exchanged my Launch Day GNex yesterday due to some radio issues (horrible signal reception, in comparison with my wife's GNex, and erratic WiFi behavior, along with some spontaneous reboot issues and some greyscale banding problems.) New one (manufactured on 11/20) has great signal reception, awesome battery life, and zero banding issues. Totally keeping this phone!

Its crunch time...I think Im going to keep the phone, mainly because of love for ICS and the lack of anything equal out there. I do believe if the Razr maxx was out right now I would get that.

I suppose my only question is should I return my Gnex which I got on launch day for a new one thats perhaps better?? Im not sure mine has problems outside the norm so I don't want to take a step backwards unnecessarily. Are the currents Gnexus' with newer build dates consistently outperforming the first batch?

As far as i know, the holiday return policy was corporate stores only. Third party vendors have their own return policies.

IMO this phone is the best android phone on the market. I have played around with Razr and Rezound and just think this is a smoother device. I live outside of Miami's 4G area to the south, so I normally keep my phone on 3G but when I travel into the 4G area there doesn't seem to be major issues with my radios. I have noticed a 5-10 second delay once or twice when the phone seemed to be switching over from 3G-4G but other than that this has been a solid device. If you use this thing the battery drains that is just fact, but the battery also drains on the Moto and HTC phones. I love the phone and there is not a chance I would be returning for a Blur or Sense device, not saying these aren't good devices I just don't prefer them.

I will bw keeping it. I have had it since day one. Expected bad battery life. Non issue. Just get extra batteries if you use it alot like i do. The only problems I have a know issues. Call volume and slightly lower signal strength. Now I am comparing to a BB Bold so that is new vs old and on those issues old is better. On everything else including camra I have no complaints. I look forward to the next update of ICS. Then I will really know if Im screwed or not. If I am just go change phones. Not that big of a deal. Like is to short and moves to fast for me to be tore up over a phone. If I like it I keep it if I do not like it I hunt till I find something I do like.My biggest problem is where I live it is VZW ot 2 tin cans. I just got a good 3G signal about 3 months ago and will never see 4G here. So 4G is not an issue.There are just so many things you can do with this phone and if you think it has bad audio output. Plug your Bose headsets into it and tell me that. It will blow you away.Just remember one thing. It is first a phone so its got to make calls no problems and then it is a small computer and every computer I own and I have a bunch depend on good software.I think Google will get this right as it is their test platform for ICS. Only time will tell and like I said if something better shows up we can move on. I expect the next Iphone to be a big step but really I am not an Apple sheep. They have too much control.

Printed out the VZW holiday return policy and went back to Best Buy yesterday. They called up their VZW Corp services and they authorized the return ... guess I got lucky. Now to wait and see what, if anything, else comes out that might be better from a reception point of view.

Definitely keeping mine. My first two attempts at the phone had numerous issues including horrid 3G reception, data drops, etc. But my replacement that I received this past week has been pretty much perfect!! Pulling a solid signal at all times, not one data drop, no grey triangle of death. Heck, even my pics are turning out much better. I am now extremely happy and convinced, fwiw, that there were poor batches of this phone during the initial production.

You probably got one withthe new software put on it. I am sure they need some testers to make sure it works before they push it. Check you software version see if it is the same as before. I got mine on day one and only have the low volume issue which I have semi fixed with Volume +. Others seems to have phones with so much wrong they do not know what is right. I do agree when you pay 200-300 for a device that it should work or be replaced. I am pretty patient and usually find where i made a mistake in the settings. If I have a problem I go to the forums and to google to look for the answers. Never call VZW. They know less than you do.

I wish I could have had the hardware performance of that phone, with the software and device design of the Nexus.

Trust me, you and me both.I really like the GNex phone. I did not measure the actual viewable area of the screen while I owned it (meaning taking away the part with buttons at bottom), but is seemed much larger than my Rezound.Could just be somewhat of an illusion but am still curious.

Overall I am very happy with the rezound and actually like the thickness with extended battery. A fat phone With standard battery it is thicker than the Gnex but there comes point where too thin is too thin (RAZR). But with extended battery I no longer need to charge while at work, I can easily drive 2 hrs west of here and back whereas with my GNex I got about 4 hrs of runtime on that trip due to it searching for a 3G signal. In Verizon store, it read same signal strength as the Gnex in store but that was all I had to compare it to. defective? Perhaps. In the end I made the switch hoping the forums were accurate about the rezound and its radio as well as battery life. Compared to my phone, they were accurate. I get 3G at work and 4G in parking lot at work. My Gnex could only get 1X at work and 3G in parking lot.

I am, however, adamant about NOT bashing the gnex. It is a very nice phone and sure for many people the radio won't be an issue. Verizon only charges $35 to swap it for another phone which is a reasonable price given the phone cost. Anyone reading these posts and concerned just remember that. Most of the happy camper GNex people are not living on forums but rather enjoying their phones. I swapped because of my signal issues and I could not risk being married to a phone for 2 years that would constantly annoy mean like mine did. My rezound is far less sexy than was my Gnex but it is reliable

^I have a similar experiences with the Rezound and RAZR too.

I had a G Nex since 1-5. Things started out fine, then started to get bad. Exchanged it for a Rezound yesterday. Both get 4G in my apt, the Rezound has some extra perks with it tho. They both are keepers for me, I was gonna let someone else use it...not know...lol. They will have to use one of my old phones on my 3rd line.
