Backup everything and factory reset.

99% of the time it fixes any issues and your battery life will go back to normal.

Damn, factory reset? Installing all the apps again, putting all the settings back? I did that so many times when I rooted my OGEvo, I really don't want to spend much time doing that.

I'm still waiting for an economical solution to replacing my cracked screen without having to go through Sprint's insurance coverage and get a refurbished shitty one.

no , DO NOT DO RUN THIS UPDATE ON ANY GS3 IN THE US, YOU WILL BRICK YOUR PHONE

don't wanna sound rude but yeah this only works on international versions, there are hardware differences and the carriers are different, there are older leaks for us versions but if you are not comfortable tinkering with your phone i would suggest you wait for it to come out officially thru OTA eventually .

Any gt i9300 could have polish JB via OTA.
All you need to do, is change csc code on XEO.
(change code is automatically factory reset)

I use Apex and definitely JB is smooth. I used to have all animations disabled as I always thought they slowed down the phone and I have them on as they are blazing fast.

Via OTA, yes.
Or flash full Rom via Odin, that way will change you code automatically.

Newb over here. So with OTA JB update (when its available in my area). Does it wipe the entire phone, and you have to restore your backup? or will it just update your phone, and all your previous settings and installed software are still there.

It will install it over your software on your phone. it won't wipe it. There may be a setting or two that is different after the update if the update changed anything but otherwise it should be painless.
