JB update prompts

Just got prompted for the update about 20min ago, I guess the fixes are in. I'm in the process of updating so I'll report back once it's done.

jellybean is up and running, very snappy, more memory available, also pre installed some games. It ran a little hot before the reset; now after reset and disabling some apps, phone running smooth and cool.

Thanks for the info. I still haven't received the update, and I've done the "check for update" many times over the past few days.

Was your phone rooted before the update?

What did you reset, and what apps did you disable?

I finally got the update today. It seems okay so far. I haven't done a full reset yet: Is it needed? And what apps did you disable?

I just got the update this morning. The media scanning is much faster when you reboot the phone but battery life does not seem any better yet as I had it off the charger and didn't use it and within a minute it was down 3% and all I got was a few tweets and wifi and mobile data were off. Will see tonight as I am going out and it will be off the charger for a good long while and I need to use it some. Good think my portable battery is charged up in case I need it. Mary

not rooted, before nor after. disabled; AMAZON, BROWSER, CALLER TUNES, GAME BASE, GAMES, GOOGLE+, LOOKOUT SECURITY, MOBILE LIFE, SCOUT, STICKY NOTE, TMOBILE TV, AND ZYNGA GAMES. also uninstalled the pre loaded games.

You won't be forced to update but you will have to be diligent about not accepting any updates when the request pops up.

Just curious....what parts of JB make you want to stay with ICS

Ricky and Roly I've merged your two very similar threads for the good of the discussion. PM me if you feel strongly about wanting separate threads restored. :)

I just got my update tjis evening . What a disapointment, you know back in the olden days a upgrade ws supposed to be an IMPROVEMENT, Boy are we a bunch of Suck'rs.

I'm loving the update too, I actually have about 500mb free for apps! While I can't just install whatever I want, I'm not having to shuffle apps around and think about the value of each app.

Definitely faster and smoother.

Re: Lookout, mine is now premium for free so I did not disable it as I don't need a free alternative.
