Help JC1 Donut is out!?

I had JB6, I tried to flash JC1 (pda only, using odin 3.95) and after flashing and rebooting I'm stack at the SAMSUNG logo screen.

I go into recovery mode, and I get an image on the screen, it's a triangle with an orange exclamation mark (!) and a phone in front of it. It stays there.

What do I try next? Flash again?
 
Is it possible to flash different versions for PDA, Phone, CSC... and whatever that last one is? (slipped my mind)

Which one decides whethers you're on donut?
 
it's possible; pda is the core os (meaning, it decides whether you're on donut)
most people who flash with odin don't even use the csc (so there isn't one on the phone)

i'm currently running jb2 pda & bootloader ("the last one"), ik4 phone (aka amss; i accidentally deleted that as well when deleting the csc off the archive) and no csc

not sure if you can have different version pda and bootloader tho' (?)

How do you get those 2 files out individually? In my copy of JB6, I only have extensionless files.

Yep, music quality as well as volume is improved.
In JB2, jimi hendrix-all along the watchtower vocals got muffed and felt like he was whispering, now in JC1 i can hear the vocals properly.:)
 
Yay... My main problem with JB2 was the missing NL locale, but JC1 puts it back. Now I can finally use the android keyboard (it seems to be a lot better than it was on 1.5)

However, I'd like to know if someone has an .apk for the samsung keyboard. It wasn't too bad, even with the scary colors ;) and it allowed choice of T9 dictionary...

Regarding the no-sleep problem: I haven't experienced it on either JB2 or JC1 ;) one happy camper!

If you are already on JB2 then you only need JC1 PDA, then you flash that file via odin. Others are reporting it's working so you should be fine aswell :)
 
I flashed this in Odin by only selecting OPS and PDA file (not one package and no other files). After flash, it booted, android screen, samsung screen, but then I just got a black screen. Pressing unlock or power off didn't do anything. After I took battery out, I could reboot again with power button, but phone did not boot (black screen at the end every time). Before flashing the PDA I had the full JB2/6 on the phone.
Any ideas?

EDIT: now i flashed JB6 one package back and phone is stuck on samsung boot screen :S
EDIT2: flashed drakaz recovery & did data wipe, reflash JB6 and now it works again.. but no JC1. anyone have exact instructions to flash?
 
Mine's working.
Try it without the drakaz recovery. Do a wipe in the stock recovery after you flash (press the menu button in recovery mode)
 
Thanks. I actually just reflashed JC1 now, after doing a wipe before flashing JB6 (i installed a few apps afterwards), and it works now. I guess something was bothering it before.
 
The bad thing about all this Donut leaks is that Samsung is not obliged to provide Donut kernel sources needed for GAOSP and Mustymod ROMs.

Let's hope this leaks will soon find a way in the NPC updates so Samsung will need to provide those. :rolleyes:
