Root jelly bean 4.1 for one s

Officially they have not confirmed that this phone will get a JB update, but I am sure it will. You just have to wait until the update is pushed out (that may be quite a while).

I had never tried to put a custom ROM on my phone until today and while I was successful for the most part, I have questions.

I have an HTC One S and I love all of the HTC interface stuff and look. After I did the "CM10 Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean ROM", the interface of the phone was entirely different. I also lost 4G access and the phone would only show a 3G connection.

I've already put it back to stock with the appropriate RUU, but I really want Jelly Bean and I intend to get rid of the TMobile bloat.

Is there a way for me to get Jelly Bean without losing all of the HTC stuff on the phone? If there is a ROM like that, could someone post a link?

Thank you!

There is a jelly bean sense ROM over on xda. It is still a beta that was derived from the ruu for the oneS+ but a very nice ROM. If you want to try the HTC version of jellybean and have the HTC bloat. Its called virtuous ROM you can't miss it in the Dev section on xda . If you want the stock android look and decide to try cm 10 or one of those again go with PAC-man ROM. Also you saying you didn't get 4g on the aosp rom that you tried. You were still getting the same connection you always had before. The 4g icon is something that t mobile and HTC did to our phones for the us versions. When really our phones are getting 3g all the time. Hspa+ is technically a 3g technology but does meet the requirements speed wise for it to be 4g. So t mobile just defines it as that and set the phones up to always show 4g. When running aosp or a EU version of HTC sense. Your data connection will show 3g and h or h+. It will show 3g when no data is transferring and h or h+ when it is. Just do a speed test when you try one of those roms again you will see your speeds are the same as usual.
