Jelly Bean 4.1

i warned people that getting ota's would be a hassle since you dindt have a full odin tar. as for cwm what is teh issue? is it flashing in odin and then what? just saying you cant get it back doesnt help me help you

odin said it passed then when i tried to go to CWM doing the volume up and power it just went to the stock recovery not CWM

I have the galaxy rush and I'm rooted and I'm on jellybean

This is what you do you download befire accepting the update ota root keeper run that program it will keep you su apk and binaries

You then will need to go back to stock and I mean stovk if you have stock rom and ani kernal it wont flash once you are stock rom and stock kernal it will ask you if you want to disable stock recivery flash you select no it will flash stock recovery on

So now you have an all stock rooted ics rush ok now download the update once iys done downloading select install it will go thru the install thing it will then ask you if you want to disable stock recovery flash I selected no and the it will ask you if you want to keep root I selected yes

Now let it load up now what you will have to do is go baci to the app ota rootkeeper and select restore root it will restore it and then you select your supersu app on your ohone it will download and install your binaries and wallah

You are rooted on a jellybean galaxy rush now custom recovery I don't know bout but I'm rooted havent had sucess with wifi tether it onky works for ad hoc which my tablet doesnt pick up my laptop picks it up and it works

unfortunately im all ready on jelly bean so with out CWM there is no way for me to root praying that some one can do it another way or get CWM to flash

Yeah I guess ya are gonna have to wait till someone finds out how to get recovery I knew I'd lose root so I tried that app im like what can it hurt lol and it works

cwm flashes just fine and works, /system/etc/install-recovery.sh resinstalls stock recovery on every boot.

when you flash with odin uncheck auto-reboot, when it passed power y ou pull the battery, then put it back in and press and hold the buttons to get into recovery. if you boot into android at all once you flash cwm you will lose it.

once youve booted into recovery at least once it will remove the script for ya when you try to reboot

tada, i just rooted your jellybean update as well now, do i win a prize? :P

I had to trick the phone into grabbing the update. Settings>Application Manager>check the all tab and find Google Services Framework>clear the data and force stop.

Then you go to Settings>System Update and Check now. It might take more than once.

I am still having problems, not sure if it's because I am rooted or what.

Thank you good sir ! It worked on my second try.

For everyone else, keep "clear data/force stop" until it works

woot thank you shabby im rooted got a backup and rocking some jelly bean

got use to being over clocked for got how slow it was with out lol

Won't someone post their cwmr stock backup, so these guys can use that to restore, and/or flash the 4.1.2 update

This should work for you to update immediately, if you're rooted, you might lose root.

I've been complaining to boost mobile and samsung that I haven't gotten Jelly Bean for my Rush but I should probably wait until after the 23rd lol. I guess I was just a little ticked off since my sister has the exact same phone as do but she got the update as soon as it came out but I didn't

Got my update this morning. So far I like it. I noted my phone is runing a little smoother.

Um .. wouldnt that be a problem because we would then have to reactivate our phones ? Wont the backup cause us to have the OP's number ?

or maybe I'm just way off here :p
