Jelly bean Email problems

since I uprgraded to jelly bean on my s2. i never get email notifs anymore. even on gmail. and i checked that it is checked and evvvvverything. any work around?
 
Is your email syncing though? Like when you enter the app, email is up to date and you just dont get notified?
