Root Jelly Bean google search?

Yeah didnt see that someone made a flashable zip. I already installed it manually, which I prefer so I know exactly which files are going where.

Yes thanks I did come across those shortly before you posted. I have tried that way and flashable zip..everything works EXCEPT voice back:confused: I'm on midnight rom. Maybe I will start completely from scratch later and try it again.

I'm using midnight rom and it talks back...

Flashable worked but then not too long ago it went nuts and everything google started force closing repeatedly. Going back to my pre-flashing it backup.

That happened to me and a reboot fixed it. Hasn't happened since and that was hours ago.

Google play etc. working since then? I rebooted and it started in again. I thought it might be something with the flashable version which is why I bailed and went back. That's WHY I made sure to make a backup before doing it :^)

Yes everything works.

Ok, wiped everything, clean install midnight rom followed by flashable zip and everything is good now..I wonder if it was Chad's latest kernel (qualcom 3.0)? What kernel are you guys using?

I think I'm still on 2.7 I have my phone set up the way I want it and I don't want to wipe everything to install the newest build of midnight rom

Couldn't get voice to work either..tried several different things..everything works but voice..tired now maybe tommorow

Fixed my voiceback issue, I just had to clear data for Google Search and the lady started talking to me :p

I tried it and all I get is "Initializing" then immediately "Didn't catch that. Try speaking again"

Check my post earlier #24 it has the instructions to get google now and voice to work, you need to use a file manager to add different files to different parts of the system folder. I'm pretty sure everyone that has followed those instructions to the letter got it working. Make sure you clear the cache and defaults for Voice Search and Google search. Also change the name of GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk to GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk.bak its in system/app.
Reboot when everything is installed.
