Jelly Bean ROM?

USN12

Newbie
Hello all,

I'm very sorry if this was asked before, I tried doing a search function, but nothing came up.

I really enjoy using my Galaxy SII, but lately, I've experienced a considerable amount of lag while using ICS. The phone will sometimes freeze for a few seconds, than come back to life. YouTube videos often "stutter", but eventually play back smoothly afterword. Still, this is very annoying.

I know this is a pet peeve, but a phone with such a powerful processor should really not experience any lag at all.

I realize that Jelly Bean corrects this so the phone is more "smooth".

Is Jelly Bean scheduled to be released soon for the T-Mobile network?

If not, my phone is rooted. I was looking at Jelly Bean ROMs, but most said they were unstable and not good to use permanently. Is there any way of me installing JB on my phone so that I can use it permanently?

Thanks.

Hi USN. I went ahead and moved this to the All Things Root forum.

Right now, I'm not sure if or when the S2 will get Jelly Bean on T-Mobile. I know it is rolling out any time now for the S3. I don't know, but I hope the S2 developers may be able to use it to make a stable rom for the S2.

You might try going to recovery and wiping cache partition and see if that helps with the lag you are having. Or try flashing Darkside Cache Wipe in recovery. You can find a link in the All Things Root Guide sticky. Are you on ICS 4.0.4? I can't remember really having a lag problem with it.

I'm using Cyanogen 10, which is a stable build. I really like it.

According to everything I've read from Samsung, we're supposed to get Jellybean, but who knows when? I was impatient, and my phone was out of warranty, so I rooted and tried a couple of ROMs before I settled on this one. I don't see myself switching.

Ohhh yea we will probably get jellybean when our upgrades become available - ohhh is that 2 years from now well tough luck.

I been roming since Gingerbread and Samsung and T-Mobile can suck it with their updates. You should not be updating a phone to the old system 1 year later when the new one comes out (as it happened with ICS) and they updated it to the trash ICS (4.0.3) yes it was a nightmare.
