Jelly Bean Stock Release - Is it out yet?

HenryJack

Good Morning Everyone,

I am looking at putting my S2 back to official stock firmware. Has Samsung released the JB for UK yet?

And if so where can i obtain this from, and how easy would it be to put my phone back to this?

I am looking at selling it very soon so would need to be 'out of the box' so the person or company that buys it has no idea it has been rooted.

Many thanks

See, Jelly Bean update - Dummies Guide posts #1 & #2. Only UK release is for Vodafone branded firmware.

In that case you will need to flash a firmware for your original, out-of-the-box, CSC code otherwise the phone will not receive updates via Kies or OTA. See #1.7 of previous link for details of how to download and install stock firmware. You will also need to reset your phone's flash counter.

That is the firmware for, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Russia.

Thanks for the info.

I have searched the post and found my phone is XEU which is UK.

There is no firmware on sammobile page for this handset yet, or could not see any.

I have put it back to ICS using odin and a vanilla stock firmware from here

I have reset my counter too and now showing Samsung Offical and No under binary download.

Have i selected the correct one? And will this update fine in the future in Kies for updates etc?

Providing that you are certain that XEU was definitely your original CSC and not some other code. Try connecting it to Kies and see if it gives you the message in #1.6, here. If it does, you have the wrong CSC code.

Then it is probably XEU then. Looking at your screenshot again, it just says it does not support initialising which is different to the message I referred you to and would seem to indicate that there is no firmware upgrade for you. Sorry to be hazy but I have not used Kies for upgrading in about 3 or 4 years.
