EDIT: Just googled that method, and it's pretty much what i said i wanted to do. Not sure why you think mine is complicated when it's (almost) exactly the same

There are a number of official updates for Jelly Bean that have been released. See posts #1, #2 ande #3, here. You are correct in saying that, to-date, there are no Indian JB releases. However, as post #1 shows, you can manually update to JB.
