Could you explain a bit more? Are you trying to access the SD card or connect to something like Eclipse?

galaxy s2 with 4.2. before i upgraded, every time i connected it, it would come up where i can transfer files to it. now, even with putting it in debugging mode and becoming a developer by tapping on the kernel 7 times, still nothing comes up
Google changed the way mounting to a computer is done with 4.1 and up, you can't mount as a disk drive any more, it's as MTP.
Not sure what to suggest for a Mac, is transferring stuff over WiFi an option? Something like airdroid should work.
