Jellybean is official!!

I have mixed feelings because of JB not having adobe flash support. It will make things snappier, but I like being able to choose between dolphin and chrome based on what I'm going to be browsing on the interwebs.

So does this mean that Google is giving up on getting other devices up to speed on ICS? As much as I hate to say it, I think they need to do something to get carriers and manufacturers on the same page as far as updates go. Think of all the apps that either don't run or run with problems on ICS and we are getting a new OS already? How many devices are still running Gingerbread or even Froyo? New updates are exciting, but I feel like if they don't slow down and start getting everyone on the same page this will lead to frustration with the platform.

Um, the carriers and manufacturers are to blame on this one, not Google. Unlike Apple, they can't force the carriers and manufacturers to accept and use the new code, they can only release it.
It's the manufacturers who add their skins to make the phone look different, and the carriers like these add-ons to help differentiate the phone lines (like Motorola's Droid series, HTC's One series, etc.)

+1
Unless manufacturers start shipping their skins as optional the non Nexus devices will always lack behind.
Much as I'm looking forward to JellyBean (Chrome replacing stock browser? Majel?), what I'm really hoping for this year is multiple Nexus devices on sale directly to the consumer. Consumer pressure is the only thing that will reduce carrier and manufacturer upgrade delays, and that will only come about through easy availability of pure Android devices.

I think I'll buy the 7" Google Nexus (Jelly Bean) Tablet... :D

I believe it's correct, but Chrome (mobile) as the default browser will never support Flash? I personally use the stock browser as I like the quick controls and full screen over Chrome. Don't really need Flash, only for certain sites which require it, but it'd be a bummer if they use Chrome as the stock browser and NOT support Flash.

I have often wondered - Why can't google make the phone manufacturers provide all hardware drivers (and radios from the carriers) to any of their customers, and (google can) make it easy for a customer to take the Android source code and the drivers and build a ROM (stock Android

Mid July OTA (I'm sure for the GSM'rs out there), but that most likely means custom rom'rs for the VZ version soon too!

They said JB was an incremental update. From the looks of it, to me, it looks huge and probably what ICS was meant to be

Nice find! Love my nexus too!

Some of the JB updates look great, sounds like the camera app has some nice improvements, and notifications have some really cool sounding updates! Now the question is how long for vzw to roll it out...

Official VZ OTA? I don't want to go there :p
