Jellybean upgrade.

As you should be aware there is a firmware upgrade available from here:- Glasses-Free 3D Android Tablet | Indiegogo . I have downloaded it and installed it with some success. However what I have found is that all the apps I had downloaded have been erased. Probably should have known that would happen and maybe I should have backed everything up but it's done now.

The 3d games app via Tridef works well with Angry Birds Rio; not tried anything else.

3D imaging functionality is just the same as before - no improvements there. Disappointing as I thought Tridef were going to do a bit more for us here, not just games.

One problem I have is that autorotate seems to have stopped working altogether. The screen will rotate when an app demands it but it won't respond to changes in orientation. Yes autorotate is selected. Very annoying.

I haven't noticed an increase in speed.

If I find anything else I'll post here.

If the auto-rotate is non functional, try removing the alm_autoupdate file and reflashing.

All personal data will be lost in upgrade so back everything up!

any questions email info at neo3do com

Not seeing that file. I do have an aml_autoscript file if that's what you mean? Just tried reflashing without this file and it's made no difference, sadly.

A month later and still no progress. Just found out when trying to reinstall an app that 'This app is not compatible with your device'! Rapidly becoming a huge waste of money.

Edit:- Sorted the autorotate problem by googling 'gadmei e8hd autorotate' and following the instructions from the xda-developers forum.

Phereo 3D app no longer recognises autostereo function. Can't uninstall to install updated version.

Latest version of Google Sky map is no longer compatible, although that may be because of the developers. Plenty of alternatives though.

Having same problem with autorotate but Google search for suggested text turns up nothing. Can you provide a direct link or instructions on how you fixed?

The jellybean firmware was updated on the youtube video and on the neo3do website. It now contains working games, working phereo and a more stable UI.

Where is the updated firmware located? The only one I can find is from Nov 10th and does not work with Phereo. Would love to get Phereo and autorotation working.

Thanks in advance!

Here we go again, sigh. Managed to get reasonable results and impressed a few friends with the device although all agreed that it was far too expensive for the casual user. Also realised that the touchscreen lag was beginning to cause problems with some apps. I thought I would revisit the forum to see if there was any updates and found a new link (above) for a firmware upgrade. Guess what? The auto rotate problem resurfaced and I can't repair it this time. Another poster elsewhere recommened calibrating the g sensor, however I don't seem to have that option? After numerous attempts and trials, the tablet is now refusing to switch on. Game over perhaps?

Yes I solved this rotation problem.
Install the Android app "rotate" and buy the (inexpensive) key for full functionality. Go right through all the listed option to lock to landscape. It works fine!

Apart from that one glitch, the upgrade is worth it, and I think the 3D players (video and stills) have improved left/right rastering- it's just easier to look at, and the picture quality appears to have improved.
