JI5 available on Samsung KIES

Tried it on my wifes Win 7 laptop, and it worked. Which is odd, because my desktop is Win 7 as well..

Updated both of our phones, and took around 10 min each. It hung for a while on the "S" logo, which scared me, but it's normal.

I also lost the Haptic feedback, but I just turned it off, then back on and it's working as it was.

UVJI5 upgrade applied to T-Mobile Vibrant using Kies (Canda version). Upgrade went like a charm. GPS works great now, out of 21 Sat in view 13 were locked. Lags are gone too, well most of the lags. However, I did notice some applications had lag in screen rotation - you will need to shake the phone if screen does not rotate.

Ok, now I am confused is it official or is it a unofficial update? I mean I thought all official updates were OTA?

Media Hub works now as well. Not sure if it was working before the update, but it wasn't when I check a couple weeks ago.

It isn't working for me and I got no update and I was thinking it would be an OTA update but now I am confused.

UVJI5 upgrade applied to T-Mobile Vibrant using Kies (Canada version 1.5.1). Upgrade went like a charm. GPS works great now, out of 21 Sat in view; 13 were locked. yea Media hub has been fixed and what not.
But the main concern that I have is the Haptic feedback.
Haptic feedback will work with no doubt when even rooted.
However, when OneClickLagFix is applied through RyanZA's 2.0,
(I'm talking about the V2.1+, I haven't tried the V1, yet ).
This firmware tends to lose the haptic feedback.

Hoping this will be fixed.
Although, many things have been fixed and lags are minimal,
It still can't beat the LagFix's speed when applied.

Nope this is through Samsung Kies ver 1.5.1
People are having trouble with Kies 1.5.3 so do not let kies update.
Also have a close to full batt.

If you want to wait I would suppose this will come OTA at a later date

ok so all official updates go through kies before they go OTA?

I have Kies 1.5.1 installed and I get my phone to connect to it, but I'm getting an error saying Thus device's version cannot be updated.

I'm running purely stock firmware and I've never rooted or done the lagfix. It says I'm on version JFD and I have a SGH-T959.

Any idea what's wrong?

A report on xda says v1 of the OCLF does not whack the haptic. Uninstall v2 and try again.

after charging my Batt and coming back to the updatae I'm in the same boat now.
cannot be updated.

I'm on xda reading trying to find out whats up.

Installed Kies and it seems to work just fine, but when I click the fimware upgrade button, a window pops up showing "List of Devices Requiring Firmware Upgrade" and there are no devices in the list. I know my Vibrant is detected by Kies as I can use the device explorers and look at all the files. I'm running 1.5.1

Interesting.. An hour ago I applied J5 update using Kies (Canadian version 1.5.1) it went like a charm. I wanted to update my wife T-mobile vibrant using same Kies... It gives message PDA, JFD/Phone:JFD cannot be upgraded... Had the firmware been pulled by Samsung perhaps?

Yeah, I'm having the same problem now.

Same thing ssid...they must have "pulled it"
Installed KIES, phone was recognized, everything looked good right up until PDA, JFD/Phone: JFD cannot be upgraded.

Using Windows XP SP3, and same results using W7 64bit...

Well after trying mine and my wife's I have to agree maybe the s/w been pulled

Same happened to me and I am using the same Windows XP SP3. If they did indeed pull it when will it be back? And why would they pull it?

I get the same message:

Current Version: PDA:JFD/PHONE:JFD
This device's version cannot be updated.

Guess I wasn't fast enough! I wonder if they will update using OTA method. I hope this will happen soon even though my GPS work for me almost all the time. It just takes a bit to get a lock.

It will? Does everyone know this because it seems like a important detail to know.

That's just insanity IMO...
Samsung or TMOS I should say, needs to OTA Froyo. What about the folks who have no immediate access to a decent pc, or are "away" from home for a period of time, or can't find their control panel with a road map?

It NEEDS to be OTA. IMO of course....
Even the "semi-experienced" can have trouble with software at times.

The "PDA, JFD/Phone:JFD" error is happening to a lot of people on XDA too. This is ridiculous. POS Samsung.

Believe it or not that is fair news for me because it means I didn't do anything wrong and my phone isn't broken...well, either that or all of our phones are broken.

That's just insanity IMO...

Believe me I agree it took me forever to download kies and to be honest I kind of wanted to wake up one morning and surprise Froyo update is ready to install via OTA

Just a "stab" of course, but a server can be overloaded sometimes, making it unable to recognize updates, or perform properly. I understand this is a "program" but just the same KIES still has to update itself and receive info from the master server in order to relay the info...

I'd wait a bit, watch the forums, and check your phones periodically.
