JKay Deluxe Settings (ICS) now out

I just installed the new framework and my vk rom statusbar got replaced by a stock bar. I have to reinstall the rom to get it back? Sorry, very new to this

ok. figured the rom need to comes with support for the new framework. sorry for the noobishness. :D

I'm too good to you bunch of trouble-makers by far.

JKay 14.1 Framework for UHLPS

Make a backup first tho, just in case, as a incompatible framework will cause a boot loop.

Where did you get this framework for UHLPS? Is this true? If so, you ar a genious!

EDIT: Jkay framework for UHLPS didn't work. After flashing, the phone kept on starting up (displaying the changing colour S) and never booted up. So, I had to restore to previous ver without framework.

New problem!

When I connect my S2 to usb cable, the phone freezes!!!. I can then turn it off by holding power button for a couple of seconds.

Then I restart the phone.

Conclusion: Some times, when connected to usb, it freezes and some other it doesn't. Is this ok?

What can I do??? Help needed!

did you have a theme on previous to it?
perhaps it only works properly on an unthemed rom.
I've not got an LPS backup to test it out now unfortunately.

You could try flashing the theme restore first, followed by the tweak.

I dont think JKay will be too much longer with his LPS release anyway.

Stop Press: JKay UHLPS is out, so saves me a job!
:D

Thanks for the reply. The only thing I've flashed before was Apex launcher. Let's see if I understood: this is your UHLPS ver not the official one. Is that ok? Thank you!

My tweaked one should have worked but no need for it now as jkay version is now out

Back to Neat 1.2 (LPG). No luck with UHLPS. No possibility to install JKay. After flashing it enters into a loop. Not booting. Neat Lite 1.2 works better for me.

Thanks for all the advices and help.

Iron ass thanks for directing me to the right thread here. Still, not sure where to look for the recovery file for my phone. Thanks

Now, dumb question should I restore stock framework(recovery file) if I want to install another rom or it will be gone by default anyway. Thanks

Anyone know when/if JKay is going to support 4.0.4 with his framework? Mainly I was wondering when we can expect to have JKay with the new NEAT release.

I get the impression jkay will keep working on the gs3 for quite some time and will skip 4.0.4.

If we are lucky we may see a jb offering from him some time after Samsung begin to roll out their jb gs2 rom in October ( apparently)

Wow, makes me completely regret buying this app, lack of updates, pretty poor in terms of supporting new roms, awful layout in the GUI; like it has never been proof read.

So AOKP roms it is, shame i can't get a refund on this app, also shame no one else is developing something similar for Samsung based Roms as they could probably do a lot more with it tbh.

Maybe harsh but blah.

Whilst I appreciate that JKay wants to expand his market, by adding the S3 to the stable, the fact of the matter is that, at this moment, there are a lot more S2's worldwide, than S3's.

Coupled with the fact that the S2's are now coming out of warranty and owners are more inclined to root their handsets as they have had them for a year and are perhaps bored with the stock ROM they're using and want to explore other possibilities and update their firmware.

Since the JKay framework requires a rooted phone... this would seem to be a golden opportunity to cash in on those that are rooting and want the latest and greatest firmware on their handset and all the goodies that go with it.

I'll shut up now! :hmpf:

I agree the ui layout is poor and not particularly intuitive. There is huge room for improvement on this respect.

As for lack of updates for firmware, to be fair it's only been the case since 4.0.4, and 4.0.4 has been a complete minefield until only recently (brick bug, camera/video/BT problems etc).
He has been working on s3 and luckily for us gs2 users this coincided with a big lull in firmware releases (bracing for the 4.0.4 impact I shouldn't wonder).

Jkay is estimating Sept/Oct to finish his S3 framework, and by then we could well be seeing the first of Samsung's JB roms, so it would be pointless to spend time on a 4.0.4 framework by then should this be the case.

But i agree it would be nice to see something, and more regularly. More updates to the Deluxe Settings app would be nice and not just framework updates.
It's one of the pitfalls of being a one man band.

As for the actual functionality of the deluxe settings app, it's second to none. It's the only reason why I'm still on LPI and not a 4.0.4 firmware.

Fair points. And functionality wise agreed although i do think a few more things could be added, a lot of nice GUI tweaks out there now and just minor ones like AOKP has, small day and pm/am, maybe something for changing lock rings, the newer wave effect/honey comb effect thats on XDA blah blah :P

Always loved JK's work but to put it in a nicer way, i feel it is far from reaching its potential.

I'll let you into a little secret.
It's not common knowledge yet, but JKay framework 14.1.3 for LPI has been let out of the bag.

Bug fixes mainly. It's so hot-off-the-press news, I've not even got the official changelog for it.

I'm still on LPI (and loving it) so happy days!
:)

Now to find out if it works with 14.1 Deluxe settings....
Edit: All working. Happy days indeed!
:D
