Root jrummy overclock "module not installed"

novemberwhiskey

i used to run jrummy's overclock fine, but i think after updating to 340, and apex 1.3, it stopped working. when i try reinstalling from the market, it says "overclock module not installed" and somethign about my phone not being compatible.

If I go into setings, and deselect the "new module" checkbox, and go back into the program, it shows all the options again, but it will freeze upon trying to overclock.

It then reboots my phone.

Anyone else?

Mine was quirky (before the update) but eventually got it to work.

Since the update came out the other day, it has been running flawlessly.

I would uninstall the app and then reinstall it from the market. Don't use TIBU to do it.

I've tried that like 10 times, and still have the same result.

I downloaded this app for the first time last night and it said the same thing. All I did was close the app and reopen it and it said it was updated for droid x, and that message no longer popped up.

However I cant figure out how to work this program. I only see "Set CPU scaling frequencies" and then there is a help, and I think setting tab.

I click set CPU scaling and it shows me at 1ghz but wont let me drag the bar to a higher clock speed? Also it shows the minimum speed at 300mhz, but I dont see where to adjust the power options (low voltage, medium, high etc..)

I have read through the threads of people using this app and it seems to be so simple for everyone but Im just not seeing how everyone is accomplishing that so easily with this app.

Would love for someone to write a simple write up of how to work the app, I get the idea though. Try higher clock speeds at low voltages until I find something stable, just can't figure out HOW to do that lol.

+1

Maybe also on how to use quickclock as well. My JRummy app allows me to set scaling frequencies but every time I do, it reboots my phone... (Apex 1.3)

it's an intuitive app, but the problem is that not all the components are being installed. I suspect it has to do with some conflict with the 340 update or apex 1.3, although some people have it working fine.

when it is installed correctly, you will see more menu options, and you can set the scaling frequencies to what you want (up to 1.45 i believe).

right now, if you only see 3 or so menu options, you are not loading the overclock module. If you uninstall and reinstall, it should throw a warning up front telling you about the error.

I had some difficulties also. What finally worked was to go to the manage applications settings, selected the app, cleared data, and then pressed the "force close" button. Went back to the app and ran it and it then installed everything. I'm running my X at 1225 without any problems.

the app did not install the module for you. without it you can't overclock your device. i had the same problem im on the .340 sbf from tbh. i uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. finally i had to restore the app with titanium backup and it works like a charm.

I had the same problem before. I just installed the kernel update from TBH and it worked perfectly. Here is the link:

TBH Patches: 2.3.340-System, Baseband, 2.3.340-Kernel, Bootloader

This worked for me. The app wouldn't run correctly for me after I installed the latest kernal but clearing the app data did the trick. Thanks.

Edit: D'oh! It froze and bootlooped! I had to format data and cache to the phone to boot back up. This is what I get for trying to update the kernal.

So I actually had the full menu of options available to me but the program it self wasn't working. I did the uninstall/reinstall and saw the module error and also saw the "3 option menu". I did the uninstall/reinstall about 4 times and finally it worked. Its up and running great now! Thank You,

Mike

I'm on a fresh 2.32sbf then Apex1.3 brought me to 340. Flashed the new kernel from TBH, then loaded up apps, all fresh, nothing from TiBu. All is working fine, waited until today to load the Jrummy's overclock app, first run got the error and followed these instructions and it worked for me to set the OC.

Just apprehensive to set at boot due to bootloop so going to just run it like this for a while.

Weird, I had this problem too, but I uninstalled and reinstalled two or three times and then it just snapped out of it. Maybe do it ten more?

ok, this seems to have worked for now. I will keep an eye on it.

Thank you!
