Root jt1134 Super Clean browser switch

Nice ROM, but after using it for a bit, stock browser as usual (dumped Dolphin a while back), I shut the device down for a while to clean food off of the screen (long story ;)), fired it back up and was surprised to see my browser had been wiped clean of bookmarks and had a U.S. Cellular home page, which could not be deleted (I'm with Verizon and have never been with U.S.C.).

I could not remedy the situation, even after using Root Explorer to remove the browser and reinstalling it.

So, thankfully I'd backed up my previous ROM. Has anybody else seen this strange issue?

which version of jts rom on you on Frisco? on the last dio1 0.4...jt started including the mesmorize browser as it was a google-search browswer instead of bing.

when we went to dj05 at first there was a google browser (i recall that far back :)) but the search bar was horribly messed up so jt went back to a vzw-bing browser. he has said he doesnt use the stock browser anyway...so i guess he didnt feel it was worth his time to get the mesmorize one working with dj05.
 
I installed the di01 version of the Super Clean provided in ROM Manager, nitsuj.

Hmm... I'm going to fire that back up and poke around.. I know I can configure the browser back to taste (once I can dig into where the undeletable bookmarks are, such as that dumb U.S.C. homepage), but I jumped out after a bit thinking the system was corrupted and that it would spread..

In the meantime I went ahead and put Dolphin HD back in.

All is well. I'll post a screeny in a bit here.
 
I used the browser from the mesmerize briefly in my quest to de-bing, but certain of its quirks annoyed me, so I sought a fully-fascinate de-bing browser, and came across this:

[Release] (8/11 fix) Browser (Removed VZW, Bing) - xda-developers

which I have been using for the last day without issue. Uses Google search, comes with no bookmarks (maybe a google.com one, I can't recall). Installing it is up to you, I simply extracted the .apk and put it in /system/app after renaming browser.apk and .odex to ".old", clearing all browser data via manage applications and rebooting.

Bear in mind that I am running a mostly-stock Fascinate... just rooted and removed a few things, installed LPP, but not running any roms, kernels, cwm, or anything like that (DI01).
