Root Judge orders Google to release personal data to FBI

that won't stay long, its unconstitutional especially without the warrant.

I'm hoping that's the case... I've mentioned before about some odd permissions requests that Chrome browser updated these last few months. Just makes me wonder :screwy:

what the hell do they hope to gain that way? from google of all people... worst case is they can read your emails on your gmail account, if they wanted to steal your money theyd go to the bank, if they wanted to find out about your phone usage theyd go to the phone company, what can you really get out of google that wouldnt be easier to get other places for the government? information on the frequency with which you look up internet porn? how often you get emailed about cheap prescription drugs?

basically i think this is more a case of google not wanting to be pushed around than anything else. just because theyre the government doesnt mean they can do whatever they want

oh yea and they cant just say "hey we want everything on everyone" they have to name you specifically, so unless you are under suspicion for terrorism i think youre safe

The FBI made 16,511 national security letter requests for information regarding 7,201 people in 2011, the latest data available
thats about 2 letters for every one person they were getting information on, so judging by that they only wanted info on about 10 people
