Juice Defender 3.2.9 on Your Epic?

i've actually stopped using J/D for a while, just because i wasn't putting the epic through the wringer daily. recently, i started it and found out there's a newer version 3.2.9, total upgrade.

i've tried using it, just the free version of 3.2.9, and seems like it's not compatible with 4G toggle.

a few times in the 4G area, the data upload (pics to facebook for example) gets hung. i toggle 4G off, but still no go. if i upload with 4G off initially, no problem (just slow).

anyone else?

I actually purchased ultimate juice a while back but it caused my wifi to loop (turn on then turn off constantly) with it so i stopped using too. They have a forum and might want to check it out. I keep trying mine off and on when they update it hoping they fix my issue

Go through the help in the program, the developer is very active on there own forums and reply to issues all the time.

I've been using the payed (utimate juice) version since new years day cuz thye had it on sale for like 2 bucks. I have not had any problems and if i did i just played with the settings till it worked how i wanted. No complaints here. I however do not have any 4g towers so I cannot verify the 4g problem.

I just recently started using the free version and wasn't too impressed with battery life. So I turned it off and am going to pay attention to my battery life without it. Then try it again.

I've been using ultimate juice for a few weeks and felt that it was doing well. I couldn't seem to get it to keep my 3g connection killed occasionally though...

I turned it off yesterday and just used extended controls. So far I like what I'm seeing.

Juice defender has seriously saved my life! I am not constantly worrying about having to charge my phone anymore. I noticed a significant difference in battery life by keeping it on auto brightness level, using a task killer to kill unwanted tasks about twice a day, but i also have certain android tasks/apps ignored so it does not constantly search for those programs. Also i use a start-up manager that automatically shuts off any undesired bloat ware. Give it a shot, download JD. and leave it on the default settings. I feel no need to buy the "ultimate" juice version. If i can take my phone off charge realistically at 5:30am and not have to charge till about 12:00am midnight with about (2) 30min phone calls, 40 texts, 25mins of light internet browsing, face book for about 15 minutes, and constantly checking emails about every 2 hours or so (with 35% left) I AM VERY SATISFIED with my battery life. Realistically i charge my phone everyday when i go to bed, so i'm not worried about it lasting longer then a day. To each his own though!
OH! and dont forget to cycle airplane mode on/off, i do this out of habit when i wake up in the morning!

My battery life went from a day and a half light use to about 3 days now.

For anyone having problems with juice disabling WiFi, go to "Controls" scroll down to WiFi and make sure the "let JuiceDefender automatically enable and disable.." is disabled or it will be a bit erratic on how it handles weak signals.

For all the nay sayers, to me the UltimateJuice version is worth the buy really. You get much more customization out of the app including night mode and the ability to select more apps for the enable/disable connectivity settings.

I wish that was the case for me and the wifi but its not. Mine will just randomly turn on and off. And it is a known issue to them in their forums. No rhyme or reason just happens. I have high hopes for this app as i did plunk down the money for it and will keep testing new releases until one wont do that to my phone. I believe it is a good app and does many people good, i just fall into the cracks with an odd problem afecting a limited few.

My problem with it was controlling 3g. With extended controls I could toggle my data manually but with ultimate juice running it would turn itself on regardless of my settings. It may have been user error but I'm satisfied with the battery life without it.

tried the basic version twice. both times, my data connection got way to screwy and made my phone non-functional.

Yep, i also encountered 3G data locked this past weekend. it got stuck on wanting to use WiFi after i moved out of range. even after i manually switched wifi off, it wouldn't turn my data back on.

At this point, i would not recommend this app for the epic. too much aggravation for minor benefit.

Mine was doing the same thing for the first couple of weeks and then my friend had me update the PRL (Settings>About Phone>System Updates>Update PRL). After that, I haven't had that problem anymore and my 3G connection comes up every time. Try updating the PRL and see how it goes.

Was it doing that with this new version of juice? I never had any issue with the older version. Thanks though, but I already uninstalled it. I went ahead and updated my PRL anyway.
