Juice Defender vs Tasker

Was hoping to get some opinions on these. Ive tried Juice Defender free but here tasker is ther way to truly make your smartphone a super smart phone.

Im looking to one of these to assist in saving battery.

a lot depends on if you root or not. im rooted and use setcpu with profiles for different circumstances and it seems to have improved my battery life a bit. ive also frozen/deleted a lot of widgets and crapware through titanium backup and that seemed to be a big improvement as well.

really if you don't run a lot of widgets or background programs you should get very good battery life with the dx. i use the regular battery and even with heavy browsing and live wallpapers i get through the day (6 am til 8 pm) with 40-60% left.

right now im not rooted. waiting for 2.2. but also in general how are these 2 apps. i know tasker u can set it up so it auto does everything like when u open vertain apps itll activte gps, bluetooth, close, etc..

Tasker on its own won't really help you save much battery. You can certainly set it up to activate GPS when certain apps are open, but I think the amount of battery you save is going to be negligible.

It's a great app don't get me wrong though.

so oes any1 else have any opinion on whih is better? even in general..

tasker or juice defender??

I'm not the biggest fan of Juice Defender. It's main battery saving aspect is that it shuts off your data and only turns it back on in certain intervals. That can really mess with some of your background updating apps.
