Help Juiceddefender :: Yes or No?

You really need a third party app to keep your phone from running out of juice? Seriously, some of these apps do more harm than good. Why not use battery saver mode and configure it as you like? It's built right in to the OS.

Or get the extended battery.

Yes you are correct. Howerver the OS sytem doesnt control how often your data and wifi are used and transferred. This app lets you control that. the OS has a built in task manager/killer. Those are pointless and cause more damage than it helped.

.

If you're a heavy user your battery is going to drain no matter what, and not last all day. BAttery saver isn't going to help when I'm online using the heck out of my phone, getting emails from my 600+ subscriptions to this site:D, responding to all of them... and so on.
So if a third party app can help, even a little, that's a good thing.

Or get the extended battery.

This, of course, is the best option.

Now you're nitpicking. Save a little? LOL, ok. If you're not in a postion to get a spare charger or get the extended battery (which is the only option, IMO. Especially if you're such a heavy user as you say you are), what's JD gonna save you? 5 minutes, maybe 10? I don't gauge my battery usage in minutes or what I can save in minutes. Do you really think you might gain an extra hour or 2 using JD?

Dude he uses it. Either it works for him or makes him feel better by being proactive so just let it be if you don't want to use it.

lol, well said.

Not that big a deal. Just give your input as to if you think it's a good app or not.
No need to get mad at anyone for using it or not using it;)

Ok I was just making sure. I don't use my phone for heavy internet and data usage but I just wanted an app that would make my battery last..for when I wanted to use it.

Verizon also offers one. Of the non OEM batteries, Seidio tested the best, but OEM are the the best at getting the most juice out of them.

First off bro, I'm not a dude. Secondly, the title of this thread was a question.

Now where did you get that piece of false information? Seidio tested best? LOL, ok.

extra battery that lasts longer. I believe Motorolas stock battery is about 1300ma. You can buy a 1700 ma or sometimes a even larger one, but usually it will make your phone a bit thicker.
But you'll get hours of extra use with it.

seidioonline.com
X uses a 1540 mAh battery. Seidio makes a 1750mAh (which if it's anything like the one for the Incredible, it's not much better than the stock battery) and a 2800mAh (which is not yet released).

reports have been sent. If you can't post in a respectful way then lets just move on to other threads please.

dude is an expression, maybe you've heard it. I do not wish to argue with people on here. I offer my opinions and If you want to debate things I post as facts, you can research it on your own if you choose not to believe it.

no... bought it, uninstalled.

Same here. Maybe it was needed with 2.1, but I tried it for 2 weeks then dumped it.

I have no use for emails coming in the middle of the night and it failed to do even that. I'd still have a flashing led in the middle of the night.

I get better battery life using "Maximum battery saver" mode using stock Froyo without that annoying led lighting up my bedroom at 4 a.m.

I really like using the disable data widget. I get over 5x the battery life! I have a battery estimate application and it told me I have 19 hours worth of battery :). It's just smart consumption, don't use when it's not needed I guess! I use my phone for texting when I'm at work and etc, but after work I use the data and then, HEY! I got 70% battery :)

I hope that's 19 hours with heavy use.

Yes, with my definition of heavy use. I text with my phone a lot and occasionally go on the internet for the forums and what not. I also use facebook and not to mention the data syncing, but with the data tired off i can just o the texting. And when I need the data, I turn it back on. If im using the data for an extended amount of time I use Juice Defender. had my phone on since 7 this morning and I am now, at 10:45pm working on 50% battery. I definitely think its wise to learn how the background data is syncing and its important to turn your data off when not in use.
