JuiceDefender for Eris?

Hey, has anybody tried to download JuceDefender on their phone (those who upgraded 2.1)? I've seen it names here and there and how it is supposed to help the battery life significantly. Does anybody know if this works on the updated eris?
 
I tried it but it seems to work better on phones with GSM networks, not Verizon's CDMA, since it prevents the phone from accessing data from cell networks. I didn't find it to have any affect and I just uninstalled it.
