Hello guys, i`m new to android phones and also new to this forum as a registered member, but i have been reading about for some time now, even before i bought my galaxy note.
Now that i made this change from iphone to android, i have encountered some issues.
I recently updated from GB 2.3.6 to ICS, official rom, through PC kies and i had a problem with the update, as in it started, downloaded the update and when it reached the point to install it on the phone i got an error with .. model phone not recognized or something like that and the phone went into an a lock mode. Well i put in recovery mode and did emergency recovery via pc kies. It worked and also installed ICS once it was done. I was happy about this as it installed my apps and settings that i had on GB also.
Now.. the problem is that i find the phone very slow with ICS. It takes about 3 seconds to open the contacts menu and has lag scrolling through menu pages. Also apps seem laggy to open too. After what i read on this forum from people who have ICS and seem to be enjoying it, i came to the conclusion that there`s something wrong with mine.
Maybe when it installed ics.. after that error during the update process, something went wrong ?
I was thinking to root it, put mobile odin on it and wipe the cache and dalvik cache also.
Will this affect in any way settings, apps or anything like that ?
