Root Just a quickie about language packs.

When the GB MIUI came out i tried it, but have never installed a language pack before, just assumed it was flashable like a ROM through recovery. Long story short, it didnt work, how do you install a language pack?

I also have this question. How to add languages?

I'm using GV, not MIUI, but I find it very strange that I can change the Android system language to Chinese, but there is no Chinese input (even when it's set as the system language, the default input language is English and no option on the default gingerbread keyboard to input Chinese).

What gives?

To pre-empt the inevitable "install a Chinese IME" response, I don't want to. It's slow and annoying to change back and forth, and I like the stock keyboard for English input.

When people buy phones in China, they don't come preinstalled with Chinese input?

I am having the question too, looking for a ROM which support chinese input. I heard MIUI is developed by chinese, maybe MIUI can support. I am not sure, need to dig in more.

I installed froyo on my galaxy i5700, and now there is no autocomplete for text or email other than contact info. I tried installing gingerbread kb, but it didn't add a language pack. In looking at the settings there doesn't seem to be a language pack installed.... I may be looking in the wrong place.
Does anyone know how to add a language pack, or how to access one if it is hiding away somewhere I don't understand?
I am quite new to this whole thing however did manage to root and upgrade from eclair to froyo...
Any help appreciated!
