Just bought a Bionic

Since I'm on a Droid X and it's deteriorating rapidly, I bought a Bionic(should arrive this week). I'm not due for an upgrade until September and I'd like to keep unlimited with 4G.

What is the current OS on the bionic? If it's not ICS when will ICS be out? And depending on what build I have, is there a way to root it no matter what?

It is not ICS. When for ICS is debatable. There are three leaks (so far) for ICS.

Motorola is hoping to update to ICS in early Q3. We are in Q3 right now, so hopefully it will be ready within the next two months.

You actually came into the Bionic at a good time I think. The device got kind of a bad name from the beginning because it had some issues. But after the updates and patches, I think it's an excellent device which can still keep up with some of the latest phones. I'm still very happy with it.

Yaa i agree the droid is an awesome phone lol, I've had it for a month now and no problems what so ever !
