Just bought a Galaxy s2 - H Icon in top instead of 3g. Problem?

Hey. I just came from an iPhone 4. I used to have a 3G icon on my phone to let me know when I had 3g. But I only see a 'H' icon in my top. I had the unlimited data plan on the iPhone. Did they automatically remove that plan from me since I bought a Galaxy S2 from ebay? I hope not.

Does the H mean edge instead of 3g or 4g? I'm a little worried they removed that plan from my account because I plugged in a different phone.

Thanks, a little confused.

It's nothing to be worried about. It says H+ on 4G phones to show when you're connected to 3G/4G signal. It will show an E when you're on EDGE, though I've only dropped to EDGE once. Also, it will show a circle with a line through it (like a cancel sign) when you have no signal, which has only ever happened to me in a couple of buildings in my university where I think they purposefully made it so the building stops cell signals from getting in.

I wish it indicated wether we were on a true hspa+ signal versus their normal 3G, kinda like some cdma phones will state either 1x or EvDo

I have the unlocked international model being used on at&t and it does exactly that (E, 3G, H or H+), I think like other HSPA+ phones it is at&t's decision to have it the way it is now. You can however see what network you are on (EDGE, UMTS, HSPA, etc) when you go into the settings, just takes longer I suppose.
