Just did a Warranty..

Verizon is a bunch of jackasses to say the least. My phone is in great condition but the screen has gotten dust under it... and yes its visible just when you look down you notice it (dont have to look closely to see it at all). The lady tries to tell me its due to dropping the phone or some human abuse of some sort and thats the only reason it'd do this. I told her the phone is in perfect condition so obviously I have never dropped it (100% true btw) and argue with her for a bit. The manager then comes over and says its extremely weird and he will do a warranty replacement on it.

Its obvious that its a factory defect, why must they be so terrible to deal with?

Anyways, I have an LED screen at the moment as its an original Inc since they came out. I know that there isnt too much of a difference in how the look, but will the battery life be better if its an LCD screen? I know the AMOLED screens eat battery..

Each store must be different. My screen has a speck of dust under it as well, but they told me they'd replace it no questions asked if I wanted to. Not sure what i'm going to do because i'd have to unroot it and set it back to stock. So far it doesn't bother me enough to go through the hassle. Plus i'd lose the Invisashield I had installed.

Sounds like your beef is with the specific lady, not Verizon as the manager is doing a warranty replacement for ya...

Oh, and you've got AMOLED and LCD backwards. Well, mostly. For displaying a lot of full white, the AMOLED can use more power, however: For colors, especially dark ones and doubly especially for black, the AMOLED can use quite a bit less power. The reason is that the LCD needs a constant backlight on, no matter what color is being displayed ( for black, for example, it simply blocks the light. ) AMOLED on the other hand is actually emitting the light ( LED = Light Emitting Diode ), so the darker colors need to emit less light.

Oh, and if you have an original Inc, then it is AMOLED...and you should then receive an AMOLED Inc back, as you are supposed to get the same screen that you had before.

I've had multiple instances where this happened to me though, maybe its just the people at that store. My old LG Voyager (piece of shit) broke 3 times all factory defects and they gave me a hard time.

Not necessarily correct, their replacement policy states that they will give you whatever they have in stock.

I went into the store to get my Inc replaced and they said they had to order it. I called VZW and asked about getting the AMOLED screen on the replacement and she said that there was only one part number listed so she couldn't say what I would get. I did end up with the AMOLED screen, though.

Just got my phone replacement in today, good news its still an AMOLED screen! Bad news... the speaker is crackly as **** (blown maybe?). I just set it up and set my ringtone and it was horrible, tested music and even more horrible. x_x

Back to Verizon I go! =/ =/ =/

My screen was showing shadows, I think from getting frustrated and pressing the screen WAY too hard. I took it in, they looked at it, and immediately scheduled a replacement. I had to wait for it to be overnighted to me. So far the only issue has been on my end with importing the phone-only contacts... Mind you, I normally would NEVER say anything nice about Verizon, outside of my respect for their coverage zone, but this was perfectly painless.

Their warranty service is great to get a phone, but the people there (besides the manager) always try to come up with excuses to screw you out of it. And then my replacement was a defective one, could happen to anyone I guess. But yeah their process is very easy and fast.

it's cos it shows up the phone you bought.. if u bought amoled it shows up as that and you will get a refurb as that, same with lcd, if you bought lcd youll get lcd.. long as there is supply

Not true. You get whatever is comparable and in stock. There is no guarantee. Technically there is no 100% guarantee you'll even get an Incredible again (super rare though for years)

I warrantied my Eris for the 3rd time and managed to snag an Inc...only for it to get here to day and immediately start bootlooping after it was programmed, not to happy with Verizon refurbs right now. I've gone through 3 Eris' and 1 Inc with the 2nd Inc on the way tomorrow unless the weather is too bad.

well I never said there was a guarantee, nothing is for certain, but as long as they have it in stock, that's what happens, trust me. I had four amoled incs in boxes 2 weeks ago. all had problems, every time i asked if id get amoled they said of coarse since that's the phone u bought, that is what shows up. if you buy a scld inc and get a refurb there is 0% chance ur getting an amoled. fight with me all you want. thats a fact. unless they run out of scld refurbs before amoled which isnt very likely.

oh, and I know this because my girl works for Verizon. so, unless you work there, I'm sticking with my lady. ;-)

Why don't you just try a different store?
