Root Just flashed MTDEV CM9, can't get Google Play to work.

Hello all! As it says in the title, I've recently flashed the latest version (I think) of MTDEV's CM9. I installed the gaps after flashing the ROM in CWM then booted up my phone. Everything was going fine, I used Android Market to get ES File Explorer as I had an apk that updated market to Google Play. It's always worked before when flashing other ROMs. When I go to download an app, the download bar comes up and it does the little motion it does while something's downloading. However, that's all that happens. I don't get a percentage, I don't get "installing", I don't get "starting download", I don't even get a message in my notification drawer. I've tried dialing "checkin", I've tried force stopping, clearing cache, and clearing data. After that didn't work I tried rebooting then repeating the earlier steps. Usually all it takes is dialing "checkin" but that doesn't seem to be the case now. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

UPDATE: I downloaded the latest version of ICS gapps and let the play store update itself. Still no luck. Will continue trail and error experiments.

UPDATE: All is well. For some reason "Google Play services" wasn't installed on my phone. A quick google search for the apk and downloading it has resolved my problem.

I think there was a very recent update to the play store. Maybe your manual update update interfered?
