Every time I go it's just amazing seeing my family but I only go every 4-5 years and only for a few weeks, Mainly because its like $1600 roundtrip a person and my parents have work
And everytime I come back, I cry...shit I cried just typing this and I'm 18 years old lol I haven't cried since I was a kid
It just feels like there's no stress and I can just live even if the standard of life over there isn't as good as over here...
you went back to the PI? i really need to get back there too. haven't visited since '98. i was born and raised in the US, but both my parents were born there. that's my roots.

Yea the 18 hour trip (If you live in the NY at least, 13 to korea, waiting for a few hrs, then a 3hr11min flight to manila.
And wow, 1998?? That's a longgg time but the traffic is still just as bad lol. Growing up over there was the best, it isn't like over here where you can only stay near or inside of your house, I had a farm with the huge backyard and my own river to swim in
Kids really mature a lot faster too my 2 year old cousin over there can have a conversation with you while my 2 year old cousin over here can't even form complete sentences yet (That wasn't the only example I saw), but then again there's only 10 grades then college

There are parts of the country you could go that offer this (nearly anywhere in the midwest). Not that I am personally recommending living here. I am a city boy and would love NY (city) over my current location.

Oh I know. Home is home. Just saying, if you are missing those specific aspects of your home country, you are simply living in the wrong part of this country

Why didn't you stay back for another couple of weeks? You're on summer break until you start school in the fall. You didn't have to go back with the parents It's pretty cheap in the Philipines (as my neighbours love to brag, lol) and you can live with your relatives.

I wouldve...if I didnt have college orientation on the first week of August -___-.
*Sigh* I asked my parents the next time we go back and they said when I graduated college and that's in 4 years -_______-. I could go back this spring but that's only if my spring break is long enough, my friend said his was a month long, and I'm hoping not to just stay for 2 weeks as that 18hr flight is a bitch lol
