Just got mine today!!!!

Well, I am now a proud owner of the 'LG Optimus V' (modeled after the 'Optimus S' from Sprint) from Virgin Mobile. I just got it today from a Target in the greater Chicagoland area. The activation period takes 1-3 days, maybe since I'm porting my phone # from one carrier to another. This will be my very 1st Android phone and I can't wait to use!!!

I'm happy to report that the 'Optimus V' is AWESOME!!! My phone was activated late last night and I can't put it down! I've already added a ton of apps on it. IMO, the only drawback is the short battery life. Other than that, I really don't have any complaints, so far.

and to original poster, i ordered my phone through bestbuy and i have to wait till Tuesday, which is about a week from when i ordered it. Are u saying im going to have to wait an extra 3 days to be able to use it?

although it MIGHT take 3 days to port your number from another carrier, my experience when porting from AT&T to VM was <3 hrs to port and activate. my wife who also switched to a LG Rumor Touch took even less time (<2 hrs). but YMMV.

IMO, the only drawback is the short battery life. Other than that, I really don't have any complaints, so far.

The battery will last longer once you stop playing with it 24/7.
