On how to care for this bad boy? this is my first smartphone since '08 (Palm Treo) and don't know too much about the latest android phones.
Im going to activate it with Metro tomorrow morning, along with wife's flashed phone, and begin tinkering with it. So far I've only been able to use it via WiFi's home internet.

Thanks in advance for the help and info and I look forward to gaining a lot of knowledge from you guys/gals. I'm most likely going to begin rooting it tomorrow as well.

Me and Pnut are the people who go around helping people get their phones rooted, recoveried, ROMd and overclocked so let one of us know when u get a chance and we will help you out.

Activation Pending doesnt hurt anything though, wont affect anything... It'll just help him out with being able to immediately see faster speeds when he actually gets to TRULY play with it tomorrow. Now what WOULD be a positive side to him waiting would be so he can see how the Stock ROM works and performs then rooting, CWMing... blah blah blah, and comparing it to afterwards to see which he enjoys best.

let's do this

i got mine in the end of january and the first day i had problems, like it freezing and when i restarted it the lockscreen wouldnt respond. But after a quick factory reset its been working flawlessly. Im curious if you get any problems since our phones were purchased around the same time

Here's some tips.
1: get an extended battery. (Ull see deal posts on extended batteries around the forum)
2: root it.
3: get cwm or rzr
4: Flash, flash, flash, and flash some more.
5: have you're name on the waiting list for rooters anonymous( reference to A.A)
6. Make a freaking backup in the custom recovery!( recommend before every flash and delete old one)
7: Welcome to android forums, where you realize that you have an addiction. :P

Welcome to the nicest android forum in the Milky Way glxy.
Imo, having fun with it for couple days in the completely stock rom THEN UNLEASHED the "evil" to the max by rooting and put other roms on it.
If you have never used it in stock*, maybe you wouldn't know what is the different between them; I had this on my galaxy indulge; i had it in stock for couple hours then put other rom; at the end, i had a question for myself.."why should I root/put another rom on my phone". BUT, maybe it was ONLY me had that feeling.

*I also had never know about android phone at all.

Once you get hooked on androids you never go back. :D

Thanks for the kind welcomes, guys.
Phone is now active but havent had time to begin the rooting. I deffinitely will need some or most of your guy's help as this is my first time rooting, flashing, ect. Phone is very nice and fast in its stock form. Cant wait and see the difference once I begin customizing it.

looks like i'll begin sometime tomorrow or Monday. :D

Thanks again. :)

Yes, I would have to agree, if not it isnt a big deal... honestly it takes me 15 minutes to set everything up and start the Downgrade process... no big deal there.
